Not familiar with Shopkick? The idea behind Shopkick is to reward shoppers with "kickbucks" (points which can be redeemed for store gift cards) simply for walking into a bricks & mortar store. Sounds pretty un-techy, you say, for this day and age?  Not at all. How does Shopkick know you are actually in the store?  Because you "check in" via the smartphone application that locates you via GPS.  This is fantastic.

Besides awardingthe kickbucks currency, Shopkick also rewards its users with exclusive, Shopkick-only deals like the coupons listed here or this great $5 Best Buy gift card that was given out in June.

Remember, all Shopkick coupons are digital and in-store only. I love digital coupons.  I checked and Shopkick coupons are stackable with manufacturer coupons (unless they state otherwise), but not store coupons, as they are considered a type of store coupon. To use a Shopkick coupon, simply bring up the offer on the Shopkick app on your smartphone and tap the "Use This" button.  Then show the coupon to the cashier when you check out.  (S)he can either scan the coupon right off your phone or type in the UPC numbers.  I've redeemed about a half-dozen Shopkick coupons, and each time I've presented them, the cashier has looked at me like I just landed from the mothership.  Apparently, they don't cover Shopkick in cashier training.  However, once the cashiers scan the coupon and their cash registers take it without a ding, they tend to think that Shopkick is pretty cool.

Download the app for Iphone here and the app for Android here (both free).

Here's another nice deal to start you off with Shopkick:  when you enter the promo code raspberry1824 immediately after downloading the app, you will get an automatic 50 kickbucks just for signing up. How do you do it?  Right after you have downloaded the app, go to the ME tab (your profile...it'll be your first name) and tap on the "Got a promo code?" icon in My Stuff. Enter raspberry1824 on the next screen and your 50 kickbucks will be automatically credited (if not, restart the app and you should see the credit).  The promo code icon only lasts about 24 hours after signup, so snag your 50 points right away!  Kickbucks can be redeemed for store gift cards (and I do <3 gift cards).
