The end is near! (the end of the month, that is...)

The end of the month is, well, today!

The end of the month means we can look forward to some new coupons popping up in the changing of the (coupon) guard on 10/1/12.

It also means that many of your favorite coupons, you know, the ones you've been meaning to print but haven't gotten round to, are going to disappear.  If you've got any coupons on Coupons.comSmartSourceRed PlumWhole FoodsTargetBetty Crocker, or Cellfire that you've been eyeing, now is a good time to put paper in the printer.

Things calm down a bit in terms of the Jewish holiday scramble, but with all the upcoming Halloween sales, make sure you stock up on costumes for Purim!  I'm also going to start thinking about Thanksgiving, getting some new sweaters, maybe a new winter coat for the husband, and finishing up some house maintenance. Time to start thinking about Chanukah gifts, to avoid the crunch in December.  Autumn is in full swing...

Fantastic deals on higher-end pearl jewelry + free shipping + bonus deal

I know that some of you husbands out there have the custom of buying their wives a new jewelry item in honor of the Chaggim.  I applaud you, oh thoughtful husbands (and I'm hoping that my husband adopts this custom!).  This post is for you...

If you've been a regular reader of this blog, you know that I post quite a number of jewelry deals.  I'm a jewelry junkie.  I'm shallow that way.

BUT, most of the really good deals on jewelry are usually for the lower-end pieces.  I have never really had the opportunity to post a great deal on higher-quality jewelry.  If you're at all familiar with the beautiful pearl items on PearlClasp.com, you know what I mean by high-quality.  So, the jewelry deals I'm posting here are not going to be cheap, but I can assure you that they will be fantastic buys.  The wonderful folks at PearlClasp.com have given Daily Cheapskate readers substantial discounts, free shipping, and a great bonus buy on the following four items.  Item quantities are extremely limited on a few of these, and the deals are good through 10/11/12 only.

First up is the beautiful pearl teardrop necklace pictured above at the top of the post.  I posted this photo on the Daily Cheapskate Facebook page on Monday, and you commented and emailed back:  "Beautiful!" "When can I buy it?" and "Are those pearls real?"

Well, yes, the teardrop necklace is absolutely knock-em-dead beautiful, you can buy it NOW, and yes, this pendant contains genuine freshwater pearls set in sterling silver, 18" long.  It's priced at $135 plus shipping, but for Daily Cheapskate readers, when you click through this special link and use promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE at checkout, you can drop 20% off and bring that price down to $108 with free shipping.  (Just fyi, the quantity on this item is extremely limited.)  I have never seen a pendant necklace of this quality and design at this price point.

AND scroll down to the end of this post to see the bonus item that you can order for a song when you buy the teardrop necklace.

Next up is this classic single strand 7" freshwater pearl bracelet with a sterling silver clasp.  These 7 mm pearls are A-AA quality.  This bracelet is priced at $65 plus shipping.  But for Daily Cheapskate readers, when you click through this special link and use promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE at checkout, you can get a BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free!) deal on this bracelet. So you can get two of these bracelets for $65, or just $32.50 for each freshwater pearl bracelet!  (Please note, one order of this item will get you two bracelets, so only add it to your cart once.)  And of course, it comes with free shipping.  Fantastic deal.

AND scroll down to the end of this post to see the bonus item that you can order for a song when you buy the BOGO 7mm pearl bracelet.

The third special is this 60" Endless Pearl Necklace, priced at $105 plus shipping.  The freshwater pearls are 6.5-7mm and are A quality. You can wear this as one long strand (that's my favorite way, with a knot at the end) or doubled or tripled up.  Daily Cheapskate readers can click through this special link, use promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE at checkout, and get 20% off, dropping that price to $84 with free shipping.

AND scroll down to the end of this post to see the bonus item that you can order for a song when you buy the Endless 60" pearl necklace.

THE BONUS BUY:

So, here's the icing on top of the cake, that bonus buy:  when you purchase any (or all) of these four items, you can get these 9mm pearl button earrings, available in white, black or pink, normally $24 plus shipping, for only $10 (that's a 58% discount) with free shipping.

Here's how you do it: after adding any of the four items to your shopping cart, click on these special links to add the 9mm pearl button earrings to your cart for $10.  You must purchase one of the four items above to get these earrings for $10:
Make sure you enter promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE at checkout to get these discounts and the free shipping.

And while you're on  PearlClasp.com, take note that they are pearl re-stringing experts.  I almost fell off my chair when I heard how little they charge for restringing.  Just $1 per inch ($15 minimum).  Yup.  Two years ago, my 18" wedding pearls broke, and I paid $75 to have them re-strung.  I could have paid $18!  You will have to pay for shipping your item to them, but at this price for re-stringing, it's well worth it.

But there's more.

If you buy any one of their gorgeous clasps to put on your existing bracelet or necklace, they will re-string your item for free.  Yup.  And their clasps (available in both sterling silver and 14-kt gold) start at $30.  So the next time your pearl necklace or bracelet breaks, upgrade the clasp and get the re-stringing done for free. That's an amazing deal.

Remember, all of these promotions are only through 10/11/12, and the quantities on some of these items are quite limited.

Free $2 Target gift card on Shopkick today

Current Shopkick users, did you receive a text from Shopkick today telling you about a free $2 Target gift card?  If you didn't, click here and fill out the form with the smartphone number of your Shopkick account.  After you submit it, you'll get redirected to a screen that says "Success!  Hurray, get your $2 Target gift card the next time you visit a Target store and open the app."  The next time you check in at a Target store, the $2 gift card will appear in your profile.

Whoa!  Don't know what ShopKick is?  Want to sign up?  Here's the story.

Basically,  ShopKick is a smartphone app that rewards shoppers with "kicks" (formerly called "kickbucks," points which can be redeemed for store gift cards) simply for shopping at a brick & mortar store. Sounds pretty un-techy, you say, for this day and age? Not at all. How does Shopkick know you are actually in the store? Because you "check in" via the smartphone application that locates you via GPS. Shopkick also gives you points for scanning items in-store and in some cases, for buying items. Shopkick also has some unique digital coupons (that I haven't seen anywhere else) that you just show to the cashier and ask her to scan when you purchase something in a Shopkick member store. Finally, if you would like to earn points without even getting in the car, Shopkick's also got "Instant Surprises" that allow you to earn kicks while sitting on your couch. The points accumulate pretty quickly (frankly, I can't be bothered with points programs where you need to wait forever for a reward).  I've accumulated over $200 in Target gift cards to date, and my effort-to-reward ratio on this program is very, very low.

Here's how to get Shopkick on your phone, and get a 50 kicks bonus to boot. Click here through my special link (and thanks for letting me refer you), and fill out the short form. Shopkick will text the link to their (free) app directly to your smartphone. Just click on the link in the text and it will download and install on your phone. You'll get an instant 50 kickbucks just for signing up through my referral link. Gift cards start at 500 kickbucks, so between the 50 sign-up kicks and the 150 kicks you'll get tomorrow just for walking in to Target, you'll be 40% of the way to your first reward.  I love this app.

Using Shopkick is pretty intuitive, but for more info on how to navigate through it and earn kicks, check out my Shopkick tutorial here.

$17 for a $70 credit on Vistaprint: that's a heckuva lotta business cards, magnets, notepads, tshirts, etc.

I'll be honest with you; I haven't bought a Groupon in months.  How many half price facials and manicures can a girl get?

But this one is a keeper:  Groupon's got $70 on Vistaprint for $17.  $70 on Vistaprint buys a whole honkin' mess of business paraphernalia.  Or tshirts.  Or caps.  Or mugs.  Etc.

What's the catch?  Well, for one, you need to spend the entire $70 in one shopping trip and you cannot use it for shipping fees or taxes.  Here are the limits:
  • Expires 12/26/12
  • Limit one per person, may buy one additional as gift.
  • Cannot be combined with other offers or partner programs.  That means you probably can't use it with a promo code.
  • Must redeem online at Vistaprint.com/groupon17for70.
  • Must use in one visit.
  • Valid for ALL Vistaprint items.  :)
  • May not use for shipping and sales tax.
Even with these limitations, I think this is a GREAT deal.   It's getting 4-for-1 value, and even with the best promo codes, that's a hard deal to beat or match.

Singer Tradition 2259 20-stitch sewing machine for $66.51 with free shipping

Wow.  I have never seen a brand new Singer sewing machine for this kind of price.  Ever.  Amazon has got the Singer Tradition 2259 20-stitch sewing machine for just $66.51 with free shipping.

If you've been thinking of learning to sew without making a major investment, or have a daughter who's taking sewing lessons, or are an old hand at sewing and you just feel like it's time for a new machine, I would snag this now, before Amazon pulls one of their infamous price switches.  While it's not a top of the line machine, I've read through the reviews and it seems that most purchasers feel that it gets the job done and is certainly well-worth the money.  If I didn't already have a sewing machine, I'd probably snap this one up.
