I signed up for MyPoints twelve (!!!) years ago. Literally. Wow, have I been a Cheapskate for that long?? It was the very first points program that I ever joined. Doing a little mental guesstimating, I've probably redeemed about $2,000 in gifts cards from MyPoints over the last decade. Since then, I've joined and dropped quite a few other points programs, but I stuck with MyPoints, because they deliver on great point redemptions.
Once you register, you'll start getting emails from them, and all you need to do to accumulate points is click on the bottom of the emails, even if you're not interested in the email content. Some of the emails are worthwhile offers, and others, frankly, are not. I go through all my MyPoints emails at the end of the day, click, delete, click, delete; takes about two minutes. They have other ways to earn points as well, like shopping click-throughs and coupon printing.
The nice thing about MyPoints is that the points accumulate fairly regularly, the redemption requirements are not that high, and when you redeem your points, they have an enormous selection of gift cards to choose from. They are a huge, reliable, secure company, and another good way to add to your gift card stash. Those of you who have been reading DailyCheapskate for a while know that MyPoints gift cards helped me replace nearly all the appliances in my kitchen.

I joined MyPoints on Thursday and started getting emails from them. you have mentioned that you can get points by clicking at the bottom of their emails...where exactly at the bottom do you click?
ReplyDeleteYardena Rothschild
Yardena, at the bottom of the email it will say "Hurry! This Point Offer Expires ____" and then immediately underneath that will be a button that says "Get Points." Let me know if you don't see it. You'll get about 5 points on average just for clicking on that button and more if you actually take advantage of any of their offers.
ReplyDeletei got an email from them this morning, didnt see what you mentioned above. this is what is at the bottom of the email

Is the email that you received from "MyPoints BonusMail?" Also, do you have images turned on or are you receiving it as a text-only email? You need to turn on the images.
ReplyDeleteThe email I receive are from MyPoints BonsMail and the images are turned on. I think I just figured it out...I noticed that the emails go to Postini (junk mail filter program), which means I deliver it to my inbox a day later, after the offers axpire. I just added the sender to my safe sender list. we'll see what happens in the next few days.
ReplyDeletethank you very much for your help and i will keep you posted.
I just received the offers for Wednesday and it says the same as what i sent you...no "Hurry! this point offer expires ___". really strange.
ReplyDeletePlease contact me privately at frugalskate@gmail.com. I want to help you figure this out. I'd like you to forward one of the MyPoints emails to me. Thanks. We'll get to the bottom of this.
