12 issues of The Economist for $12

The Economist is one of my husband's favorite reads and also one of the priciest subscriptions around...usually around $125/year, depending on where you live. Here's a deal where you can get the first twelve issues for only $12. If you don't cancel after the introductory offer, it will be $29 for every 3 months thereafter. (Washington DC residents are subject to a local sales tax.) This deal is for new subscribers only.  Click here for the deal.

I don't normally post deals like this because you'll need to remind yourself to cancel after 12 weeks, and if you don't, well, then it's not much of a deal. But if you're on top of deals that require some vigilance, then this is a great bargain. My favorite and most effective method of setting a reminder? Use Google Calendar's reminder feature, which will send you an email a few days before the task is due.

Hat tip to my s-i-l, Ellen, on letting me know about this deal.
