You know what else it's not?  Expensive.  This Sunbeam 2379 Mixmaster, 300-watt, 12-speed stand mixer with a stainless-steel bowl is just $46.95 with free shipping on Amazon, which is not too far off from the price of some higher-end hand mixers.  And given that you won't be kneading any thick bread dough for Passover, if you need a new stand mixer for Pesach, this will almost certainly fit the bill and do the job.
