Get a $25 gift card when you transfer a prescription to Walgreens
Get a $25 Walgreens gift card when you transfer a prescription to Walgreens.
You can get the same deal at most Kroger affiliate stores (like King Soopers, here in Denver) with the added advantage of getting many generic prescriptions for $4 for a month's worth (and $10 for three months' worth), which is often less expensive than your insurance co-pay. I would use the Walgreen's deal only on a prescription which is covered by your insurance and does not fall under the $4/$10 category.
When it comes to these transfer bonus deals, I feel no loyalty to any particular pharmacy. I will transfer my prescriptions around like ping-pong balls if I can collect multiple transfer bonuses. The downside to that is that if there are any interaction conflicts between your prescription drugs and they are all at different pharmacies, the pharmacists won't pick it up, so be sure and let your doctor know what other drugs you're taking when he writes the prescription. You might forego the transfer bonuses if it's medically important to keep all of your prescriptions together in one pharmacy.
Here are some more tips for saving money on prescription drugs.
