Bumble Bee and Chicken of the Sea tuna recall on 5 oz. cans

Bumble Bee Foods and Tri-Union Seafoods are issuing a voluntary recall on over 3 million of their 5-ounce cans of Bumble Bee Tuna and Chicken of the Sea Tuna products. The reason is that loose seals or seams could result in product contamination.

If you have any of the 5 oz. cans, try returning them to your store of purchase or contact Bumble Bee at (888) 820-1947 or Chicken of the Sea at (800) 597-5898 for more information.  We had some Bumble Bee 5 oz. cans and were told to mail the labels (discarding the product) and that they would be replaced with coupons for unaffected products.

Please note, the tuna pouches and any other size cans (like the 7 oz. Costco cans) are NOT affected, are not included in this recall and are safe to consume.
