Heading into Shavuot: Luchos Challah and other wonderful things

5/14/13 Forgive me for recycling my pre-Shavuos post from last year, but I've got me a last-minute cheesecake to bake!

Reminder:  make sure you save all of your Natural & Kosher cheese wrappers so that you can get your rebate after Yom Tov.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and meaningful Yom Tov.  Chag Sameach!

Wow!  A big thank you to Tanya G. of Sydney, Australia, for sending me this wonderful picture of her beautiful girls holding her special, Shavuot-inspired Luchos Challah!  Yes, folks, those are Challahs!  These are incredibly creative and beautifully done.

Please feel free to send in pictures and description of your Shavuos creations.  Here are a few posts from last year to help jumpstart your YomTov cooking:
Finally, here's my friend Chaya S.'s recipe for Easy Blintzes Souffle:
  • 2 pkgs. frozen blintzes (12)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Pour all ingredients, except blintzes, into a blender, and blend well. Arrange blintzes into 9x13 greased pan. Pour mixture over blintzes. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
