Free or near-free select magazine subscriptions on Amazon

Subscribe to these select magazines through Amazon and you'll receive a $5.00 credit good toward any future purchase. The $5.00 credit will appear in your account two weeks after you subscribe. Some of the magazines, like Eating Well, Field & Stream and Outdoor Life are $5.00, so they will net out to a free subscription.  Others (Popular Science is $7.00) are just a bit over $5.00, so you can also snag some near-free subscriptions.

Keep in mind that Amazon subscriptions are auto-renewals, meaning that they will automatically renew at the current rate, once your subscription period has ended.  What that means is that you need to set a reminder near the end of the subscription period (my favorite no-brainer way is via a pop-up reminder on Google Calendar) to notify Amazon that you do NOT want to continue the subscription.  It's a pain, but if you're organized enough, it will be worth it for the free subscription.
