Happy Shavuos! Some last minute baking and cooking ideas

Forgive me for recycling my week-before-Shavuos post from last year, but this month has been a little challenging for me. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once again, a big thank you to Tanya G. of Sydney, Australia, for sending me this wonderful picture of her beautiful girls holding her special, Shavuot-inspired Luchos Challah!  Yes, folks, those are Challahs!  These are incredibly creative and beautifully done.

And unless you've been hiding under a culinary rock, by now, you've seen this YouTube video on making "flower challahs."  I'm going to try this when I bake my Rhodes challah this afternoon.  Here's mine:

Finally, here's my friend Chaya S.'s recipe for Easy Blintzes Souffle:
  • 2 pkgs. frozen blintzes (12)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Pour all ingredients, except blintzes, into a blender, and blend well. Arrange blintzes into 9x13 greased pan. Pour mixture over blintzes. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and meaningful Yom Tov.  Chag Sameach!

-Susie & Joshua
