If you've been reading Daily Cheapskate for a while, you know I'm a big fan of shopping at Costco. There are certain items that I always get at Costco and one of them is kitchen trash bags. If you don't need scented bags or odor resistant bags or extra strong stretch bags, but just plain old, garden variety white 13 gallon trash bags, you can't beat the Costco price on their Kirkland brand bags: $13.25 for 200 or 6.6 cents per trash bag. They don't rip, and they have a drawstring that ties up nicely. That's all I really care about in a trash bag.
Now you know what I don't like about shopping at Costco? They way it kills an entire afternoon. It's a 20 minute drive over there, then I've got to dig out my card, shop, check out, show the strange lady at the door my receipt while she pretends to read it and then draws an orange highlighter through it, load up my car, get home, unload my car. And I am an unfortunate sufferer from Costcoitis, meaning I always buy more at Costco than what's on my list. Always.
Today, Amazon dropped the price on their 200-count Kirkland Kitchen Trash Bags to $13.49 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping, the lowest recorded Amazon price on this box and only 24 cents more than you'll pay by shlepping out to Costco! You'll probably save more than that on the gas alone.
These are actually out of stock, but you can order them and lock in the price and they will ship just as soon as they get more in.
Awesome deal....it's like getting the best of Costco shopping on the wings of the best of Amazon shopping. Love this deal.
