I love that  a) it converts to a real flat-grill, b) the plates are removable (super-easy to tovel) and go right in the dishwasher, c) it comes with the Cuisinart name and warranty, d) it's portable, e) I know this is just a cosmetic thing, but it's a beautiful-looking appliance.
