New Amazon Prime member benefit: Prime Early Access to Lightning Deals

Starting today, Amazon Prime members have a new perk in their savings arsenals: Prime Early Access. Prime members will be given a 30 minute lead on access to Amazon Lightning Deals.

Now, if you haven't already been taking advantage of Amazon Lightning Deals, you should bookmark this page and check it out daily, because once we get closer to Black Friday season, these Lightning Deals are going to start getting really good.

The problem with buying items on Amazon Lightning Deals is that the better the deals are, the more quickly they will sell out.  I remember last November,  I was trying to let you all know about a particular stellar Lightning Deal, and it sold out before I could even write up the Daily Cheapskate post!  Having a 30 minute lead on a really good Lightning Deal could be the difference between getting it or not, and as we get closer into holiday season you are going to really want to snag some of these Lightning Deals.

I'm really glad that Amazon is giving its Prime members a nice extra perk like this. In spite of the fact that Amazon raised its Prime membership to $99 (from $79), I still think it's well worth the price.  (If you still haven't joined Prime yet, try it out with a free 30-Day Trial of Amazon Prime here.)  If you'd like to give someone a Prime membership as a gift, click here.
