Hi, I'm Susie Sharf. I'm a web designer and a seasoned internet professional, formerly a software tester for the financial industry, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and transplanted over a decade ago to the wild, wild, west of Denver, Colorado. My husband is a web developer, financial research analyst, radio producer/host and a political blogger. We are Orthodox Jews, reaping the benefits of living in a burgeoning western Jewish community that is off the beaten track.
There are lots of frugal blogs out there, and I very much appreciate your following this one. I have two approaches that I like to think make Daily Cheapskate a little different from the rest.
The first one pertains to the deals posted here. All frugal blogs copy and reproduce each other's deals. If you see a great deal on another blog, you want to share it with your readers, and so I do. What's different about Daily Cheapskate is that I also take the time to research my own deals. About two-thirds of the promotions and deals you'll see posted here are original to Daily Cheapskate, so I hope you'll take the time to make this a daily stop on your frugal trip through the Internet to pick up some new leads in your savings arsenal.
The other way that Daily Cheapskate is a little different from the rest is that I don't believe you should "suffer" or do wacky things to save money. If you've got a decent income, rule over your credit cards rather than have them rule over you, are fairly responsible with expenses, you should be enjoying nice things. What I'd like to show you on Daily Cheapskate is that with a little patience and brains, you can have those nice things for a whole lot less. I want you to live richly, but more cheaply.
Thanks for joining the Daily Cheapskate community; I do hope you'll stay awhile.
