Chicken of the Sea Salmon for $0.93 per pouch

Remember how quickly this Chicken of the Sea salmon deal went?  Well, it's back up and even slightly better than before.  Grab this before it disappears....

Amazon's got a 12-pack of Chicken of the Sea Salmon (OU-kosher certified) 2.6 oz. pouches for $11.10 as a Subscribe and Save deal. That works out to $0.93 per pouch and since it's Subscribe & Save, shipping is FREE.  We love these pouches; they are great for work lunches (no mess) and daytrip outings.

And, as a plus, this order will certainly help if you are aiming to get the extra 10% Subscribe and Save discount that I talked about here.  Please note that if you fulfill the requirement for five Subscribe and Save deliveries in one month, this price will drop to $9.93 or $0.83 per pouch.)

Just a word about Amazon Subscribe & Save: selecting Subscribe & Save is a fantastic way to save money.  It's pretty much risk-free, even if you are doing it just to get the additional discount. You can UNsubscribe to Subscribe & Save very easily, by going to your account as soon as your order has shipped. Even if (worse case scenario) you completely forget to unsubscribe, Amazon will not send out an additional order without shooting you a warning email first, giving you ample time to unsubscribe and cancel any additional orders in time. It's pretty much an all-win proposition. Shipping on Subscribe & Save items is always free, even without a Prime membership.

Kosher for Passover Sucralis ("Splenda"); get it while you still can

UPDATE:  the deadline for this is looming, so order it while you still can!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you miss having non-sugar sweeteners on Pesach?  The KLP "pink stuff" is readily available, but it tastes awful, is unhealthy and has a horrific aftertaste.  Yuck.

We usually just make do with using sugar for a week.  But this year, we don't have to.

This year, a company called California Delight is doing a special run of Kosher for Passover sucralose called Sucralis.  Sucralose is the same thing that Splenda is made from.  So, just to be clear, Sucralis is NOT Splenda (which is cut with chametz and is NOT kosher for Passover).  It's a generic version of it that has a Star-K and CRC Kosher La'Pesach certification.

It can be purchased over the phone by calling 323-725-1045 during business hours.  I've negotiated a special price for DailyCheapskate readers:
  • $5.50 per box of 100 packets
  • $6.50 per 200 ml bottle
  • $6.50 per bottle of 150 tablets
When you call them, before you do anything, you must give them the promo code DAILYCHEAPSKATE (or tell them you found them on this blog) to get this price.  Shipping on these items is free, but there is a three item minimum per order.  They will take your credit card information over the phone and ship it right out to you.

We bought three boxes of the packets last year, and somehow, with all of our guests, we ran out of it before YomTov was up!  I'm picking up a few extra boxes this year to include with KLP tea that I'm going to package-up as a hostess gift.

These prices are actually not much more expensive than regular Splenda. This special Daily Cheapskate deal is only available through 3/10/13.

If you want to supplement the set, you can buy four more Libbey Impression colored glasses for $12.34 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  These glasses are slightly smaller than the ones in the set above, but I kinda like that they are a slightly different size.  (I hate matchy-matchy sets.)

Lowest price: annual subscription to Real Simple magazine for $18.88 (12 issues, $1.57 each)

UPDATE:  I'm reposting this because reader Jennifer H. pointed out that I had posted the wrong price (sorry, I can't do simple arithmetic when posting at 4am).  It's actually a dollar less per year that I had posted before, $18.88 per year or $1.57 per issue (a lot better than the $4.99 cover price).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Simple magazine is one of the priciest (and one of the most sought-after) magazine subscriptions out there. It has a cover price of $4.99 (which translates into $59.88 for the year over 12 issues) and its annual subscription price everywhere is a little less than half of that, $23.88.

Magazine Reader Mall has also got it for $23.88. But today, when you click through this link, put Real Simple in your cart and enter the promo code SAVE5SMNOW, you'll be able to snag Real Simple for $18.88 per year, down to $1.57 per issue (less than a third of the cover price). You won't see a Real Simple subscription for less than this anywhere.

Magazine Reader Mall DOES have auto-renewal, so be sure and set a Google calendar pop-up reminder for yourself to cancel your subscription in one year, by calling 1-888-243-8383 or emailing your cancellation to magazinereadermall@customersvc.com.

48-count box of Martinson Hazelnut k-cups for $20.00 shipped ($0.42 per cup)

Amazon has got a great deal on Martinson Hazelnut coffee k-cups.  They are priced at $25 with free shipping for a box of 48 k-cups, but by stacking a Subscribe and Save discount with a 15% coupon, you can knock that price down to $20.00, or $0.42 per k-cup.
  1. Click here and scroll down slightly.  "Clip" the 15% off coupon.
  2. Scroll up again and look over to the right.  Select the $23.75 Subscribe and Save option.  Click on the gold "Subscribe Now" button.
  3. Your total should be $20.00 after the coupon and Subscribe and Save discount.
  4. Because it's Subscribe and Save, shipping is free.
(Kosher-keeping Daily Cheapskate readers, these k-cups are OU kosher certified.)

As a plus, this order will certainly help if you are aiming to get the extra 10% Subscribe and Save discount that I talked about here, especially since tomorrow is the last day of the month.  Please note that if you fulfill the requirement for five Subscribe and Save deliveries in one month, this price will drop to $17.50 or $0.36 per k-cup.)

Cuisinart 77-7 Chef's Classic Stainless 7-Piece Cookware Set for $72.24 with free shipping

Before I say another word, let me just disclose that I am a huge fan of stainless steel pots.  I have had my Calphalon tri-ply stainless set for years now and the pots gleam.  I have them out hanging on a pot rack;  I could have never done that with my old non-stick or anodized steel pots.  Stainless steel pots with a layer of aluminum inside (like my set and this set) also cook foods more evenly, and you can use them safely in the oven. They also clean up beautifully in the dishwasher. While I prefer a less expensive, non-namebrand set for Pesach, some of you have written me and insisted that you want a higher-end set, like Cuisinart.

That said, this 7-piece set (which is essentially four pots) from Cuisinart is priced at  $72.24 with free shipping on Amazon. That comes to about $18 per pot.  This set got 4.3 out of 5 stars over 113 customer reviews. If you want this set, hurry, because Amazon prices change on a dime.
  • Set includes 1-1/2-, 3-quart saucepan; 8-quart stockpot; 10-inch skillet--all with lids
  • Cookware and lids constructed of mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel
  • Aluminum encapsulated in base ensures quick, even heating
  • Stay-cool stainless-steel handles; dripless rims on lids
  • Oven-safe up to 550 degrees F; limited lifetime warranty

  • kosher roasting chicken (4 lbs. average)
  • Tofurky (KSA kosher certified, but not for Passover)
  • ham
  • hen turkey

$1.00 off any 2 packages of O-Cel-Oâ„¢ Scrub Sponges

Passover tea box, $17, plus the KLP tea and "Splenda" to fill it up.

Last year before Pesach, I was struck with major Passover Tea Box Envy, but given how expensive pre-filled Passover tea boxes were, I thought they were out of our reach. We like to offer tea and coffee to our guests after a meal, and I had been keeping our many different flavor KLP teabags in a basket.  Efficient but not so elegant.  Then I hit on the idea of buying an empty wooden tea box and filling it myself.

The one I bought last year (pictured above) was $16.13 at the time, but like everything else, the price has gone up and it's now $19.99.  I ended up gifting that tea box to a friend who admired it.

This morning I found this tea box for $16.99 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  I like it even better than last year's tea box for two reasons:  first, because I like the French writing on the side...it's a little different ("Tisane" is French for "tea infusion"), and second, because it comes in four colors, black, red, orange and cream.  Again, just a little bit different.

If you buy one, make sure you fill it up with KLP Bigelow Tea (my personal favorite; delicious and cheap).  The list of Kosher for Passover (Kof-K) Bigelow teas are here.
You can split these 6-packs with friends or stockpile them or use them during the year.  Voila, instant KLP tea box, for much, much less than what you pay for a pre-stocked one, and lots of extra tea to refill it.

And respecting the fact that everyone is watching their weight these days, don't forget to pick up some of the KLP "Splenda" that is now available.

Since all of the Bigelow tea is part of Amazon's Subscribe & Save, the shipping is always free.  As a plus, order these teas will certainly help if you are aiming to get the extra 10% Subscribe and Save discount that I talked about here.  Please note that if you fulfill the requirement for five Subscribe and Save deliveries in one month, these prices will drop even further.

Just a word about Amazon Subscribe & Save: selecting Subscribe & Save is a fantastic way to save money.  It's pretty much risk-free, even if you are doing it just to get the additional discount. More great Pesach tableware buys on Totsy (today and tomorrow only)

Totsy was one of those sites that I never really cared about, because I thought they were all about getting great buys on children's clothing.  Well, they do have super sales on children's items, but they are also a treasure trove of  beautiful kitchen items, and their pricing is incredible.

I've received a whole bunch of tableware and kitchenware that I ordered for Pesach, and I have to say that they have really exceeded my expectations in quality, especially considering the  excellent pricing.  They are definitely one of my new favorite "secret" kitchen sites.

Sign up for a new membership here (with a new email address) and you will get free shipping off your first order.  To find the items mentioned below, sign up or log in here and then scroll down and click on "Spring Tabletop."

The two tier dessert plates pictured above and below are priced at $17.00 each.

I actually bought the one above ("Bouquet de Fleur") the last time it was on Totsy and I love the "decoupage" look that it has. It's going to be beautiful on my Pesach table.

This Sanford Glass Beverage Dispenser is $17.00 (Amazon has it for $25.99 + $5.24 shipping.)  I'll be making most of the beverages that I'll be serving on Pesach (lots of homemade lemonade and herbal iced tea); this would be a very elegant way of serving it.

This 3-piece carafe set is $12.50. I can totally picture this on our seder table: one for dry wine, one for sweet wine and one for grape juice.

This Alexandria Taster Plate Set for $15.00 includes 12 crystal plates and 12 forks.

This other Alexandria Taster Set for $15.00 includes 8 crystal tinis and 8 spoons.  Either of these two sets would be perfect for dessert.  There are other similar dessert sets on Totsy for $15.00.

Hurry, as buys like this on Totsy tend to go very quickly (these items will only be around through Thursday .  Sign up or log in and then go to "Spring Tabletop" to snag these great deals on this beautiful tableware.  Remember, shipping is free if you sign up with a new membership (with a new email address).

Polo Ralph Lauren gloves for $14.97 with free shipping from Nordstrom

Nordstrom has got these very clever gloves by Polo Ralph Lauren on clearance at $14.97 (they were originally $40.00) with free shipping.  They're made of soft merino wool and even though they are made for men, frankly, I think they would look fine on a woman.

Wear them one way, and they're fingerless gloves (great for driving or texting).

And then when it gets cold, they convert into warm mittens.

The color shown here is actually not available; they are available only in black or brown.  Free returns.

(BTW, these gloves in the UGG version are twice the price.  Crazy, huh?)

Passover Swiss Alprose White Chocolate for $3.59 per 3.5 oz. bar

This is another one of those kosher for Pesach deals that you'll want to split up with friends.   Get ten 3.5 oz. bars of Alprose white chocolate with hazelnut pralines for $35.90 with free shipping.  That comes to $3.59 per bar of this very fine Swiss chocolate, which usually goes for about $4.00 to $5.00 in the supermarket.  It's OU-P, cholov Yisroel.

Two 50 oz. Tide detergents for $9.88 total with free shipping

Amazon has got this 2-pack of Tide 50 oz. HE Original Scent on Subscribe and Save for $11.38.  But before you purchase it, make sure you clip this $1.50 coupon first, lowering the price down to $9.88 for both 50 oz. bottles of detergent.  Because it's a Subscribe and Save item, shipping is free.  So:
  1. Clip this $1.50 coupon.
  2. Then, click here and select the $11.38 Subscribe and Save option on the right, and then click on the gold "Subscribe Now" button.
  3. Your cart total should be $11.98 - $0.60 - $1.50 = $9.88 with free shipping.
As a plus, this order will certainly help if you are aiming to get the extra 10% Subscribe and Save discount that I talked about here.  Please note that if you fulfill the requirement for five Subscribe and Save deliveries in one month, this price will drop to $10.18 - $1.50 = $8.68.)

Sprouts BOGO sale stacked with coupons: Earthbound Farm Organic salad greens for $1.25 each

Have you got a Sprouts Market near you?  Ever since they took over the Sunflower Market chain, I've been getting emails from readers asking me to post Sprouts specials.  Other than their regular coupons, I haven't seen anything too interesting lately, until this week.

Starting tomorrow, 2/27/13-3/13/13, Sprouts is having a buy-one-get-one-free (BOGO) sale on a number of items, including 5 oz. Earthbound Farms Organic salad greens (i.e. spinach, arugula, romaine, baby kales, frisee, spring mix, etc.), which normally go for $3.49.  Print this $1.00 off two Earthbound Farms Organic coupon here (The link will say that it's for Earthbound Farm Organic carrots, but the printed coupon will be for any EBO product.), and that price will drop to $2.49 for two 5 oz. salad greens, or $1.25 each.

FYI, these 5 oz. salad green boxes usually go for $4.50 each at Whole Foods.  I'm just sayin'....

Other items that will be BOGO this week at Sprouts:
New to Sprouts shopping?  Sprouts markets are a huge help in our being able to eat organic and save lots of money.  Like the Whole Foods stores in our area, they allow you to stack a manufacturer's coupon with one of their store coupons, which really helps with the savings.

LAST DAY: $9.99 sale at Pfaltzgraff: snag some great finds for Pesach

Pfaltzgraff is having a $9.99 sale on over 500 items.  Some of the items are not worth the price (the single dinner plates, give me a break), but there are quite a few nice finds in the lot, especially for Pesach.

This set of four Nautica J-Class Collection Iced Beverage Glasses (pictured above) is $9.99 (this identical set goes for three times as much on Amazon).  There are a few other nice wine glass sets here and here.

The really impressive find is this French 12-piece Laguiole steak knife set for $9.99 (if you've never heard of this uber-costly French brand, search on "Laguiole" on Amazon and look at the prices).  Getting any steak knife set for $10 is impressive, but this is an excellent brand.

I also found this double set of Misto oil sprayers for $9.99, which are a very smart investment for Pesach (way smarter than buying one can of kosher for Passover cooking spray for $4.00 plus).  Just one of these olive oil sprayers goes for $16.99 on Amazon.  With a double set, you can save one for chametz, or use one for olive oil (cooking) and one for cottonseed oil (baking).

This double set of 9-cup perfect brownie pans is also a great Pesach buy (you get two of them) at $9.99.   I bake a ton of brownies on Pesach.  I think these would also be great for mini souffles or kugels.

Browse around the sale (ends tomorrow) and see what else you can snag for $9.99.  Shipping is an exorbitant but flat rate $7.95 (so make it worth the while and get a few things at once) and free shipping starts with a $99 purchase.  I actually think the French knife set alone is well worth the $7.95 shipping price alone, but that's just me.  Vive la bargain.
