Because of a cyclone in Madagascar that wiped out most vanilla crops in 2017, vanilla extract prices were sky-high this year. It's becoming more and more difficult to find a decent price on pure vanilla.
Jet.com has got a great deal on this Rodelle's Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract 8 oz. bottle, $13.67, which comes to $1.71 per oz. (FYI, Rodelle Vanilla is under the kosher supervision of the Scroll-K Va'ad HaKashrus of Denver.) Compare this to the price on vanilla extract at Costco, $34.99 for a 16 oz. bottle (YMMV) or $2.19 per oz.
Now, because it's a Jet deal, you need to have a minimum $35 order to get free shipping, so if you don't need anything else at Jet, order three of these. The price will drop slightly because you're ordering multiples of the same item, and your total will be $40.02 for 24 oz. or $1.67 per oz.. That's a 24% savings per ounce on Costco's price!
