Remember when a tablet in this price range was unheard of or really poor quality? Well, no more; Amazon figured out a way to put out an excellent product in a very affordable range.
The Fire has 8 GB of storage but (unlike most other tablets) you can expand the storage by adding a memory card, as needed, which is a brilliant feature. It does pretty much everything that an iPad (ten times the price) does (this is my opinion as an owner, not a stone-cold fact). This make for a terrific Chanukah gift.
FYI: my husband and I bought these last year, so that we could travel with a tablet and not worry about breaking/losing/dropping it or having it stolen. I once left my $500 iPad in a rental car (I retrieved it after a day, but let me tell you, it was a heart-poundingly anxious day) and I swore never again to travel with it. I love traveling with my Fire....I can get my email, watch movies, read e-books, shop, get to anywhere on the Internet, take pictures, run apps, listen to music, play games, etc. and I never worry about it. It's a great travel tablet.
I'm not sure how long Amazon will hold this price, so don't delay if you want to buy the Fire at this price point.
