The One Black Friday Deal You Should Definitely Buy

While I know that some of you are not really interested in Black Friday deals and sales, no matter what you decide to buy or not to buy, if you shop at Target at all for groceries or whatnot, this is one deal that you should really consider strongly.  It has nothing to do with iPads, KidKraft sets, Magna Tiles or Dysons.  It has to do with math.

On Friday, 11/28/14, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (local time in-store and Central time online at Target.com), you can get up to $300 in Target gift cards for 10% off.   These gift cards can be used starting with next day (11/29/14).   Quantities limited, no rainchecks, $300 per household.

Why is this so awesome?  It's just math.  You are going to save 10% off anything and everything that you purchase at Target right out of the gate.  That means that anything that you save after that (coupons, Cartwheel, gift card offers, etc.) is just icing on top of the frosting on top of the cake.   This is one of those no-brainer ways to save money with very little thought and virtually no-cost (you do have to lay out $270).

I'll remind you again come Friday, but be prepared to take advantage of this awesome Black Friday deal at Target.

Just a few things to note, based on some of your emails:
  • If you use your RedCard to purchase Target gift cards, you don't get an additional 5% off
  • You can't purchase Target gift cards with previously owned Target gift cards.
  • If you have a Discover It card, you can buy Target gift cards and get another 5% off in your Discover 4th-quarter rewards.
