Kmart Black Friday Deals



Black Friday Central on Daily Cheapskate is located here.

Kmart is planning on being open for 42 hours straight, starting on 6:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, 11/27/14, through Friday night 11/28/14 at midnight. Then they will open again on Saturday morning.  Many of this year’s Black Friday deals will also be available on Kmart.com, so if you’d rather shop in your pajamas from your living room, check back on Daily Cheapskate and I'll let you know as soon as the best deals go live.

The main Kmart Black Friday ad is 56 pages long (there is also a supplemental 12 page Kmart Thanksgivings ad) , with literally hundreds of doorbuster deals.  I couldn't didn't list every single deal, but I did go over the Kmart ad rather carefully, and below are the deals that I thought were the most outstanding.  There are quite a number of them.

La-Z-Boy Sophia Lounge Chair on clearance for $87.50 with free in-store pickup


Kmart has got this La-Z-Boy Sophia Lounge Chair on major, major clearance for only $87.50 (this chair is normally $350.00).   Because of the huge markdown, there is limited availability and no regular Kmart promo codes or cash back deals apply to this purchase.  You can pick it up for free in-store or shipping is a flat $59.99 (no matter how many you purchase).   Even if in-store pickup is not available, this is still a great price with the shipping.

Just fyi, La-Z-Boy outdoor furniture is notoriously pricey, because it's really one of the best name brands in terms of endurance and good looks in outdoor patio furnishings, but Sears/Kmart puts a few pieces on sale in the spring (usually around May) and then a few pieces on clearance at the end of the summer. These are THE best times to buy this higher-end line of patio furniture.  This is actually the first time that I've seen any La-Z-Boy chair going for less than $100.  La-Z-Boy chairs are beautifully made, and the frame is under a 7-year La-Z-Boy warranty.

Each year in the spring, Kmart/Sears puts one or sometimes two La-Z-Boy outdoor recliners on sale for around half price or less.   Last year, Kmart marked down this La-Z-Boy Brynn recliner to $180 (now back up to $450), and this La-Z-Boy Kennedy recliner to $180 (no longer in stock).  Quite a number of you Daily Cheapskate readers wisely took advantage of these rare deals.  These La-Z-Boy outdoor recliners normally cost anywhere from $350-$800. Canon PIXMA iP2702 Inkjet Photo Printer for $19.99

Kmart has got this Canon PIXMA iP2702 Inkjet Photo Printer for only $19.99 with free in-store pickup (no delivery currently available).

I would have expected a printer priced this low to have, at best, mediocre ratings, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it getting 4 out of 5 stars over 20 customer reviews on the Kmart site and 3.9 out of 5 stars over 150 customer reviews on Amazon. This identical printer costs $43.95 on Amazon, btw, so this Kmart price is excellent.

Highly-rated 7.2 cubic foot Kenmore chest freezer for $154.99, plus a possible state rebate


Before we talk about this deal, let me go on record to say that I personally prefer an upright freezer to a chest freezer.  It's easier to organize and it won't kill your back.  But not everyone has the room for an upright, and they are definitely quite a bit pricier than the chest version.  I know that many have the opposite preference and absolutely love their chest freezers.

That said, Kmart has a great buy on this highly-rated Kenmore freezer. This 7.2 cubic foot Kenmore chest freezer is priced at $179.99, but enter promo code 25OFF125 and that price drops to $154.99 with free store pickup.

This freezer is not reviewed on the Kmart site, but this identical model #18702 on the Sears site received 4.5 out of 5 stars over 55 customer reviews.  Here's one review that also includes a great way to keep your chest freezer organized:
Purchased this about 3 weeks ago. Runs VERY quietly. Don't even notice it is in the same room. We got the 7.2 cu. ft. freezer. We purchased 4 Sterilite plastic containers (approx.15 1/2" long, 11 3/4" wide, 9 1/4"deep), with little green handles that lay flat on each side of top of container from Walmart and they fit perfectly in the freezer. Stack 2 and 2. The containers also have hand holes on each end for easier lifting. The containers make the food SO much more accessible in the chest freezer. I put frozen vegs. in one, meat in one, etc. and lift out the container that I need to look in and close the freezer while I find what I want. I still have so much more room left over. Thankful for my freezer!
But wait!  You can possibly do even better if you are buying this freezer to replace an old, inefficient one.  Click here to see if your state will give you a rebate on the purchase.  I discovered that if we replaced our old garage freezer with this energy efficient one, we'd get a rebate of $50, two free CFL bulbs, and free pickup and disposal of our old freezer.  The $50 rebate would drop the price on the new freezer to $104.99.
