STILL AVAILABLE: 24 AA/AAA alkaline batteries for $3.99 with free shipping

GearXS has got this 24 pack of Great Value (the Walmart house brand) alkaline batteries for $3.99 with free shipping (comes to slightly less than 17 cents per battery). Extremely limited quantities. This is a great addition to your family emergency kit. My husband just bought 2 packs of each.

If you're concerned that these will be bad batteries because they aren't Duracell or Energizer, google around and you will find that studies show that while there is a discernible difference in battery life in brand-name vs. generic non-alkaline batteries, there is no difference in battery life in brand name vs. generic alkaline batteries.

Amazon Basics 100% cotton bath towel sets for $14.99

Is it time to replace the towels in the big bathroom? Towels are often neglected in home upkeep, and I should know.

I have three categories of towels in our house, in descending order or wear-and-tear/quality: 1) guests towels, 2) our towels, and 3) dog towels. As towels get worn down through repeated use and washing, they move down through the categories. The other day, I noticed that we no longer have any guest towels, are down to 4 towels in use and everything else has become, you guessed it, dog towels. Time to replace some towels.

Amazon Basics has now extended its brand to 100% cotton towel sets, priced at $14.99 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping, the lowest recorded price on these sets (they were priced at $17.99 at their highest). They got 4.1 out of 5 stars over 132 customer reviews.

6-piece towel set includes two 54"x30" bath towels, two 28"x16" hand towels, and two 12"x12" washcloths
Made of 100% cotton for softness and tear-resistant strength
Lightweight towels quickly absorbs moisture
Designed with a classic and simple pique border
Fade-resistant color
Machine washable for convenient and easy care
Made in India

Every purchase made at Creative Kidstuff contributes to this initiative through the Buy a Toy, Give a Toy program. I love the idea of a toy store that gives back to the community!

Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day: 50-70% off pajamas and robes. Lanz of Salzberg cotton flannel nightgowns for $27.20!

Today's Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day is on this selection of pajamas and robes for women, men and kids.

I was thrilled to see that this promotion included Lanz of Salzberg 100% cotton flannel nightgowns. My college roommate, Elana, got me hooked on Lanz nightgowns way back when we were in Penn together. They are soft, very warm, always 100% cotton, comfortable and roomy to sleep in, and also come in pretty, feminine, old fashioned designs (think Little House on the Prarie meets Laura Ashley). Along with all this usually comes an over-$60-price-tag for most of their nightgowns, which is a little steep on winter sleepwear. Amazon has them today for $27.20 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping. They have both regular and plus sizes available.

If you prefer pjs to a nightgown, there are plenty included in this deal including some Ellen Tracys and Nautica pajamas, and there are thermals here as well. The men's pajamas include lots of warm thermals and pj and the kids pajamas are supercute.

These deals are good today, 12/1/15 only.

Did you buy a Magic Beans gift card through the Black Friday deal? It's time to turn that card into Magna-Tiles!

If you bought a Magic Beans $100 gift card through their Black Friday deal (no longer available) over here, you should have received it via email by now, as it went out this morning. (if you haven't received it, make sure you contact them and let them know.)

Now you can go ahead and turn that gift card into Magnatile sets. You've got two choices.

Click over here to the Magna-Tiles Solid 100 Piece Set for $110.00 and add it to your cart. Apply the $100 e-giftcard to the cost, and pay $10.00 cash out of pocket. Shipping is free and so is (optional) giftwrap.

Your total cost: $75.00 + $10.00 = $85.00 for the $110.00 100-piece Solid Magna Tile set.

So that's your first choice. If you prefer....

Click over here to the Magna-Tiles Clear 100 Piece Set for $120.00 and add it to your cart. Please note that this set is backordered and will ship when it becomes available (if you need this for Chanukah, you should probably buy the solid set). Apply the $100 e-giftcard to the cost, and pay $20.00 cash. Shipping is free and so if (optional) giftwrap.

Your total cost: $75.00 + $20.00 = $95.00 for a $120.00 100-piece Clear Magna Tile set.

We own both sets! We don't have kids, but we do have a lot of company each weekend, and we wanted to have a really good toy that would keep a wide age range of kids entertained, and boy did we choose well! (Sometimes, I even like to build things with Magna Tiles!)

Please note that if you prefer, you can use this e-giftcard on ANYTHING in the Magic Beans store, i.e. baby gear, LEGO, KidKraft sets, etc.
