MyLowe's: useful online loyalty program for Lowe's home improvement

I was at Lowe's two days ago, buying (get this) plumbing fittings and gaskets, because I got some crazy idea that I could fix my own kitchen sink.  NTS, the plumber is coming over later.  Anyway, up at the register, the cashier asked me if I wanted to sign up for a MyLowes key card.  I did, and dutifully slid the key card on my keyring.  Then I went online to see what the program was all about.

The first nice thing about MyLowes is that you can see all your purchases online. That comes in handy when you need to remember the name of a part, or match a paint color, or you can't find the model number of the appliance that you bought two years ago. If you bought anything at Lowe's or Lowes.com in the past and associated it with your phone number, it will probably come up on this screen.  Second thing that I saw that I liked is that you can keep track of your rebates online. That is super-useful.  I also liked the reminders function, where you can set up house- and maintenance-related reminders ("Buy mulch and fertilizer." "Clean gutters." "Change air filter in furnace." Etc.)

While I didn't think that the other functions were all that useful, I am definitely psyched about the idea of a Lowe's key card online loyalty program, because just like belonging to any other loyalty program, this will mean receiving coupons, notifying me when there's a sale, etc.  The more you are in touch with a vendor, the more they are driven to engage you and help save you money.

If Lowe's is a store that you shop at, sign up for MyLowes here. While you're signing up, you can request a key card online, so that you can connect all your in-store purchases.
