We cheaped out ten years ago when we bought our original storage totes for our Passover stuff. We went with the cheapest quality, no-name brand that Home Depot had to offer at the time. They are also very large, the 72 quart size, and my husband struggles to wrestle them up the stairs from our basement each year. A few of them have bends and cracks and don't close that snugly any more, and they are the opaque kind, so I have to relabel them each year so that I know what's in each bin.
This year, I decided to upgrade. I wanted Rubbermaid Roughneck high-quality, tough bins, I wanted them to be clear, rather than opaque, and I wanted a smaller size, so that they wouldn't be so heavy, but not so small so that I couldn't fit larger things like pots in them. And of course, I wanted them to be inexpensive. Of course.
I can't believe that I got everything on my list, but I did! Amazon has got this case of five Rubbermaid Roughneck clear storage 50-quart tote boxes for $52.97 with free shipping, or $10.59 per tote. I ordered them today, and it looks like they will arrive before Pesach, though I'm not overly concerned about that, since I'll want them for packing-up after Pesach. I love the fact that these are clear and still not more expensive than the regular totes (for some reason at Home Depot and Lowe's, the clear totes are always priced more), and that they are coming to my door without my having to get into my car for the thousandth time this week.
