We buy stuffed grape leaves all the time. Seriously, I keep 4 cans in my pantry for that "just-in-case" bunch of extra Shabbos guests who might show up at a meal, when I'm a little unprepared. These make a wonderful appetizer, with a dollop of chummus, parsley and chopped tomatoes and cukes on the side. They are also a great, go-to shalosh-seudot food. I usually get these for $2.99 in our Middle-Eastern store, and our kosher supermarket has them for $4.29/can.
Amazon has these Galil Stuffed Grape Leaves (under OU kosher supervision) on a great Subscribe & Save deal, stacked with a high-value online $2.00 coupon that got me these stuffed grape leaves for as little as $2.38 a can, including shipping!
Remember that since Subscribe & Save deliveries past 11/11/14 no longer qualify for the Amazon Mom 20% off discount with five items delivered, there are only two Subscribe & Save delivery tiers now, not three:
- 15% if you take 5 deliveries or more in one month
- 5% if you take less than 1-4 deliveries in one month
- $30.50 - $2.00 coupon = $28.50 or $2.38 per can with the 15% Subscribe & Save discount (if you can take delivery of 5 or more active subscriptions in one month).
- $34.09 - $2.00 coupon = $32.09 or $2.67 per can with the standard 5% Subscribe & Save discount.
If you're unfamiliar with Subscribe & Save deals, or would just like a few tips on how best to use the Subscribe & Save program, read my shpiel on Subscribe & Save strategies here.
Remember that you don't need to be a member of Amazon Prime to get free shipping on ANY Amazon Subscribe & Save deal...shipping is free for anyone.
