LAST MINUTE SUKKOT DEALS!

Succos start on Wednesday evening, 10/4/17, less than a week away! Thank goodness for things like 2-day shipping for us last-minute procrastinators!

Here is a last-minute Sukkot deal round-up for decor, safety items, chairs, tables, tablecloths, tableware, schach, outdoor washing stations, and everything else you can possibly imagine needing for Succos!
SUKKAH DECOR:

Amazon has got this silk hanging flower set for $12.99 with free Prime shipping. Four colors available.

Amazon has got this set of 6 bunches of grapes (2 each of green, purple and black) for $12.99 with free Prime shipping.  Buy two of these, get 10% off ($11.69) or buy three or more of these, get 20% off ($10.39).

If you like to decorate your sukkah with leaf and flower vines, Walmart seems to have the best prices on those

I got this idea from my sister-in-law, Ellen.  Since you can transfer flame on YomTov (but not on Shabbos), why not glam up your Sukkah at night with some beautiful candle chandeliers?  Amazon has this Shabby Elegance Scrollwork Chandelier for $20.60 with free shipping. These hold just 3 candles, so I would use at least two of them.  SAFETY FIRST:  NEVER leave candles burning in an unattended Sukkah.  Use tea lights instead of candles, and if you finish eating before the candles have burned out, bring them in the house with you until they do.   (Schach is a flammable accident waiting to happen, G"f).

I also found this beautiful candle chandelier for $25.13 with free shipping.  LOVE this one.

Gorgeous FREE Sukkah posters, in memory of the Henkin Family z"l, H"YD.

Do your kids bring home paper Sukkah decorations that they made in school?  A great way of preserving their beautiful creations is investing in a laminator.  Amazon has got this Marigold 9" Thermal Laminator for $21.00 with free Prime shipping.  It got 4.7 out of 5 stars over 83 customer reviews.

Amazon has got this 72-foot outdoor solar string light set for just $16.69 with free Prime shipping (23 cents per foot).  We used these last year; perfect idea for Sukkot/Succos.  4.0 out of 5 stars over 68 customer reviews.  (Please note that you will still need another lighting source as string lights rarely give off enough light to stand on their own in a Sukkah.)

The way it works is this:  the string lights have a small panel that stays exposed to sunlight during the day and then, when night falls and the panel is no longer in the light, the string lights come on automatically.  They operate on solar power, so no outlet or extension cord is needed.  They are rated for outdoor use, so they shouldn't short out when it rains.

SUKKAH SAFETY:
Indispensable for Sukkot:  an outdoor power strip and an outdoor electrical cord. Whether you've got a fridge or a light or whatever to plug in, you need to have a good outdoor power strip and cord.  Only buy electrical accessories that are rated for the outdoors!
Nothing like a Sukkah full of bees to ruin everyone's lunch!  Amazon has this 2-pack of Aspectek Trap for Bees, Wasps, Hornets, and Yellow Jackets for $13.79 with free Prime shipping. I use these because they don't use toxic chemicals, they work and they are re-usable from year to year.

Have you discovered mesh food covers yet for clean and safe outdor dining? Mesh food covers are a great way to be able to put out the food ahead of time without worrying about the flies/bees/mosquitoes/critters eating it before your guests do.

Amazon has this very practical set of two mesh food covers for $5.98 with free Prime shipping.

Or you can get a little shmancy and order this cute Woodard & Charles 14" Round Dragonflies Food Dome for $18.41 with free Prime shipping.  There's also this grapes one for $17.06 and lots more over here.

TABLEWARE:

I love the "Looks Like Real" plastic disposable tableware. If you've got to use paper and plastic, it really dresses up the table. It gives me the advantage of setting a lovely Yom Tov table out in the Sukkah without worrying about smashed china, and when the meal is over, everything goes in the trash.  If you're of the greener persuasion, you can wash and reuse these (defeats the purpose, but whatever floats your boat) but never put disposable tableware in the dishwasher.

Amazon has got this 160 piece set of Reflections plasticware for $15.70 with free Prime shipping.    (Sometimes Costco has Reflections cutlery for slightly less than the Amazon price, though I haven't seen it there for almost a year, but it doesn't hurt to call and check.)

Amazon also has this 144-piece set from Hanna K. for $14.59 with free Prime shipping.

I'm always looking for new patterns in disposable, looks-like-real cutlery.  I love how modern this looks, 160-piece set for $16.99 with free shipping.

This is not the best price on this set (I've bought this one six times!) but I loooovvvve that pattern.  Amazon has this 180-piece Decor Hammered Effect Design Plastic Silverware, down to $17.99 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping

If you've got a Target RedCard (and if you don't, you really need to get one because RedCards are awesome money savers), you will save 5% on these sets, bringing the price down to $4.75, or just under 8 cents per piece with free shipping.

Shipping is free with either a $35 minimum order, or with using your RedCard as your payment method (no minimum), or it's $5.99 flat-rate shipping.  You can also opt for free in-store pickup.
Amazon has got this set of 48 disposable wine glasses for only $14.99 with free Prime shipping. This is an extremely well-priced buy, but be aware that these glasses hold 5 oz., so they are going to be on the smaller side. They got terrific ratings (4.6 out of 5 stars over 5 customer reviews.)

Also check out this Table To Go 'I Can't Believe Its Plastic' 50-count Ivory Lace Plate Set on Amazon for $18.99 with free Prime shipping. (The ones that I ordered and received were definitely white and not ivory.) This set includes 25 - 10" dinner plates and  25 - 7.5" salad plates.

(FYI to East Coast shoppers, if I bought the comparable plates at Amazing Savings, they would cost a total of $22.50.)
If your Home Depot charges exhorbitant shipping charges, you can order it online and then pick it up in-store for free.

    OUTDOOR WASHING STATION:

Just connect a hose to this portable sink, cover the bottom with a sink skirt, and you will have the shmanciest outdoor washing station in town!  Amazon has got this portable sink for $56.76 with free Prime shipping.  I was thinking this was a rather luxurious purchase, but then I realized that this can also be used for barbecues or just any kind of backyard eating during the year. (Also a good chametz sink for when my kitchen is in-process for Pesach.)

This is what we've been using for an outdoor washing station:  a water carrier with a spigot, at Walmart for $5.92.  Free 2-day shippping on order of $35 or more, or free in-store pickup.

    CHAIRS:

Target has got a great deal on folding chairs, as low $7.64 each when you follow these steps (but you need to pick them up in-store at a Target):
    1. Add five folding chairs at $9.99 each to your cart.
    2. Add a filler item like this plate for $0.79, to get your total above $50.
    3. Enter promo code HOME at checkout, and receive a free $10.00 Target gift card for your $50.00 home purchase.
    4. Use your RedCard to pay and get an additional 5% off, (and if you don't have one, you really need to get one because RedCards are awesome money savers).
    5. These items are available for in-store pickup only; they do not ship, so you'll need to pick them up at your nearest Target store.
    6. TOTAL:  $9.99 x 5 =  $49.99 + $0.79 =  $50.74.  Save $2.54 with your RedCard (5%) and $10.00 for the free gift card, total net = $38.20 or $7.64 per folding chair!

Walmart has got this set of four black or antique linen Mainstays steel folding chairs for $39.32 with free shipping or in-store pickup.  That comes to $9.83 per chair (cheaper than some chair rentals!).  These chairs got 4.7 out of 5 stars over 84 customer reviews.

If you would rather buy single folding chairs instead of a set of four, you can get this Mainstays folding chair for $9.83 from Walmart. Free in-store pickup only.

    TABLES:

If you're shopping for long tablecloths for Sukkot, this is one of the best deals around:  Amazon has this 90" x 156" wrinkle- and stain-resistant tablecloth for $15.89 with free Prime shipping.

      Other sizes:
These tablecloths are not going to be amongst your finest linens, but they are durable, wrinkle-free, wash out beautifully, and are a real boon during an 8 day holiday that is replete with huge meals and laundering restrictions (not to mention 3-day YomTovs this year!).  You can dress them up with a pretty runner and creative place settings.  I think using one of these tablecloths is much nicer than covering a fine tablecloth with plastic, but that's just me.

You'll find other lengths and colors of these tablecloths here.

      More tablecloths:
Upping your table presentation game this year and want to get more upscale tablecloths?

Bloomingdale's has got some terrific deals on Waterford table linens!  Here are two deals that I found right away:
Bloomingdale's offers free year-round shipping with no minimum to their Loyallist rewards members and it is is free to join the Loyallist program, so make sure you do.

      EVERYTHING ELSE:

If you sleep in your Sukkah, you might want to take a look at this Intex Air Mattress from Walmart for $7.97 (it got GREAT reviews!).  Free shipping with a $35 minimum purchase or free in-store pickup.

These grommetted 6-foot x 8-foot canvas tarps are priced at $32.95 but they drop to $24.71 with free Prime shipping at checkout.

Banana bags are great for post-Succos storage.  We use these to keep our rolled-up schach mats clean and dry during the year.  Amazon has got this 2-pack of 60" x 108" bags for $10.14 with free Prime shipping.

Amazon has got this set of 6 30-quart storage bins for $46.05 with free Prime shipping ($7.68 each).  These are great for storing sukkah decorations and whatnot during the year.

Amazon has got this Sterilite 2 quart pitcher for $5.53 with free Prime shipping.

Planning on taking any trips during Chol HaMoed?  This Folding Pop-Up Travel Sukkah with bamboo schach is $165.00 with free Prime shipping on Amazon
