I have been buying grill mats for three years. Initially, I didn't actually believe that these mats would work the way these said they would, but I grilled chicken and zucchini slabs on these and I was so pleasantly surprised with the result! First of all, the food actually does get those nice grill marks through the mat, and they cook really well. And they prevent food from falling through the grill slats.
These are awesome. We are going to take these on vacation with us (we're bringing a small propane camping grill) so that we don't have to deal with cleaning off the grill on the road.
One caveat: you really do need to replace these every year. While they clean up nicely. there are going to be some burn marks that won't scrub off, and the mats do wear down with time. We throw ours out at the end of the summer and buy new ones in the spring when we start barbecuing again. At about $1.20 per mat, this is one of the best deals on grill mats that I've seen out there.
