$25 off $100 Target purchase when you are approved for a Target RedCard

I've long been beating on my drum about the many advantages of holding a Target RedCard, but this week, getting a Target RedCard just got a little bit sweeter.  From now through 8/11/18, when you are approved for a Target RedCard, you will get $25 off a future qualifying purchase of $100 or more (that's one SuperTarget grocery run for me!).  Details and fine print are here.

But why get a Target RedCard to begin with?  Gosh, I'm so glad you asked.

  • First of all, (and this is totally my personal opinion), you want to get the Debit Card (not the credit card) because there will be no ding on your credit when you sign up for the RedCard Debit Card and the approval process is quicker.  Your RedCard will link directly to your checking account and you will pay for things by entering a PIN and having the money come directly out of that account.
  • You can also take out up to $40 in cash from your checking account at the Target checkout with a RedCard Debit Card (which is an incredible convenience; I literally have not been to the bank in months).  Busy Moms & Dads can skip the extra trip to the ATM to get cash to pay the babysitter.
  • As a Target RedCard holder, you get early access to major savings events, like The Black Friday Sale.  You are so going to thank me in November.
  • When you pay for things with your Target RedCard,  you also get 30 extra days to return stuff (both online and at Target stores), which, again, may not seem like much now, but wait until the end of the holiday shopping season.  You're welcome.
  • Shopping at Target is kind of a savings adventure on to itself, with online coupons, mobile coupons, Cartwheel discounts, and lots more ways to save.
