REPOSTING: A beautiful Chanukah table at The Jewish Hostess and Dreidel-shaped ice cubes (?!?)

UPDATE:  With Chanukah barely a month away, we're all looking for some interesting table setting and party ideas!  I'm reposting last year's post about my friend Marlene's blog, because her tables are such classics! (And I confess, I love my dreidel ice cube molds.)

Just look at these Chanukah table settings.

<Stepping back from the computer and taking a deep breath.>

My former high school classmate, Marlene Mamiye, has a wonderful blog called The Jewish Hostess, which highlights kosher gourmet recipes and off-the-chart stunning table settings for the various holidays.  I think she outdid herself with this Chanukah table.  Visit her site here and see how she put it all together.  Marlene, I'm in awe.

You know what I loved the most on this gorgeous table?  Believe it or not, I'm crazy over her dreidel-shaped ice cubes!  I can totally see freezing blueberry or acai juice and making blue dreidel-shaped ice pops, or using them as chocolate molds.  But I really, really love the ice cubes.

Thankfully, she shared her resources, and I went ahead and bought these Sili-Dreidel Silicone Dreidel Ice and Chocolate Mold for $8.40 + $4.49 = $12.89 shipped (well worth the little splurge, IMHO).

Check out The Jewish Hostess for other hosting tips and recipes.  Martha Stewart has nothing on Marlene....

Starkist tuna pouch, $0.54 at Target after coupon

Believe in Heroes is a Wounded Warrior Project initiative that calls on Americans to recognize the enormous sacrifices made by our newest generation of veterans and to honor the service of these individuals over a two-month campaign leading up to Veterans Day. The Believe in Heroes campaign will provide the American public with an opportunity to show their support and appreciation of our veterans in their communities, and across the nation. One way to show your support is to print the Wounded Warrior Project coupons (if you just want to print the coupons, close the pop-up donation box with the X in the upper right-hand corner). Some of these are rare coupons not found elsewhere (like Heinz Ketchup, Clorox bleach, Dr. Pepper, Minute Maid, etc.

This week, Target is having an (unadvertised) sale on 2.6 oz. Starkist pouches:  $1.04 each.
