LAST DAY: Open a no-fee 360 Savings account and get a $76 bonus. Open a 360 Checking account and get a $100 bonus. No direct deposit required!

Today, 7/3/13, is the last day for this lucrative offer, one of the best I've offered this summer.  You and your spouse can each get $176 for almost zero effort.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My husband used to poke fun of me for taking advantage of account-opening bonuses, until one year, I tallied all of my bonuses up from the last two years, and lo and behold, they exceeded $3,000.  Yup.  Banking and credit card bonuses are pretty awesome, and those extra funds do come in handy.  (Joshua's a believer now.)

I'm a little more restricted these days in what I can sign up for, as I work as a freelance contractor, and most banking bonuses require a direct deposit. I don't get paid via a regular paycheck (or a government check, which can also be direct deposit), so I don't qualify for most bonuses.  But this wonderful deal from Capital One 360 doesn't require a direct deposit.

Open a no-fee 360 Savings account from Capital One online, between 7/1/13 and 7/3/13 with a minimum opening balance of just $500.00 and you will get a $76.00 bonus.
  • This has to be your first 360 Savings account (this includes Orange Savings Account, too).
  • Open the account with a $500 minimum deposit.
  • The bonus starts earning interest on day one, but you can’t take it out for at least 30 days.
  • 0.75% variable Annual Percentage Yield effective 7/1/2013.
  • You'll need your checkbook in order to make your first deposit electronically from your existing checking account. This will create an electronic link between both accounts so you can easily transfer money. Account opening deposit must be from a personal checking account only.
  • For security purposes, you won't be able to withdraw money for the first 10 business days after the account is opened. All future deposits will have a 5 business day hold.
  • 360 Savings cannot be used for business, power of attorney, beneficiary or individual retirement accounts.
  • You must be a US citizen or permanent resident with a valid Social Security number.
  • Account holders must be at least 18 years old or a joint holder with an adult.
This is the easiest $152.00 my husband and I have ever earned.  Get started and open your no-fee 360 Savings account here.

You can also get a bonus for opening a 360 Checking account too. Open a no-fee, no minimum, 360 Checking account between 7/1/13 and 7/3/13 and use your account debit card to make 5 purchases or use CheckMate to make 5 deposits (or a combination of both) within 45 days and snag a $100.00 bonus.
  • This has to be your first 360 Checking (this includes Electric Orange, too).
  • The 5 debit card purchases can be either signature or PIN-based.
  • Your $100 bonus will be automatically deposited into your account on day 50.
  • You'll need your checkbook in order to make your first deposit electronically from your existing checking account. This will create an electronic link between both accounts so you can easily transfer money. Account opening deposit must be from a personal checking account only.
  • As part of the account opening process, they'll obtain information about you from a consumer reporting agency. Based on that information, you may or may not be approved for 360 Checking.
  • All 360 Checking deposits are subject to a 2 business day hold. Certain deposits may be made available sooner.
  • 360 Checking cannot be used for business, power of attorney, beneficiary or individual retirement accounts.
  • You must be a US citizen or permanent resident with a valid Social Security number.
  • Account holders must be at least 18 years old.
My husband and I won't qualify for this one because we already have Electric Orange checking accounts.   These are both great opportunities for you to snag a little extra cash for very little effort.   Imagine, if you and your spouse both complete these requirements, you'll get $352.00 total in bonuses for doing not-very-much.    What would you do with an extra $352.00?

If you are fortunate enough to live near a Sprouts Farmers Market, you know how wonderful their organic produce and natural products are, and how easy it is to save money at Sprouts.  Although they don't state this on their website, at most Sprouts stores, you should be able to stack one store coupon with one manufacturer's coupon per item (as you can do at Target and Whole Foods Markets).

Whole Foods deals: free Coconut Dream and $0.29 Shirataki noodles

Get two free Coconut Dream Original Enriched Unsweetened drink at Whole Foods, on sale for $2.00 each, when you stack these coupons:

Have you discovered Shirataki noodles yet?  If you're trying to cut carbs out of your diet, they are a great substitution for regular pasta.  My husband loves them!  I use them in chicken soup, with meatballs and tomato sauce, and bake them with chicken breasts.  They are made out of pure tofu, so they are low calorie (80 per bag), low carb, and high protein.  Their texture is different from regular pasta, but you get used to that after a while.  Like all tofu products, make sure you rinse them in a colander with cold water before you eat them.  House Foods Shirataki noodles are kosher OU-pareve and gluten-free.

Whole Foods has got the House Foods Shirataki noodles (any variety) for $1.79.  You can get two packs for $0.29 each when you stack these coupons:
Thanks to the publication of  Whole Foods' brand new global coupon policy, ALL Whole Foods markets allow you to stack one store coupon with one manufacturer's coupon for each item.  I love shopping at Whole Foods and save a small fortune on organic and natural foods in their stores.  For more Whole Foods deals, bookmark this here.

Cuisinart Pulp Control Citrus Juicer in brushed stainless for $29 with free shipping

Amazon has got this Cuisinart Pulp Control Citrus Juicer (model #CCJ-500) in brushed stainless for $28.97 with free shipping.   It got 4.2 out of 5 stars over 143 customer reviews, like this one:
I didn't buy this at Amazon, but I wanted to write a review because of how much I love this juicer. It's very reasonably priced and makes wonderful juice. I like a lot of pulp and this has an adjustment that I put on max, and it works great. The base of the juicer does not move at all like previous models. It gets all of the juice without any bitterness from the skin. I was looking at one of the juice presses for around $100 and read a review of how some bitterness gets into the juice if you press too hard which I'm sure I would do. My favorite feature is the turbo speed, where you put the plastic cover on and press down and it spins very fast and gets out the last bit of juice and it really works. I bought some organic juice oranges at whole foods and they aren't cheap, so I want to get all the juice. I'm sure juicy sweet tangerines would work great with this too. I just rinse out under the faucet after each use and that works fine. This is easy to use, works great, easy to clean and don't forget to use the turbo speed to get the last bit of juice.
  • Auto-reversing reamer; final spin feature.
  • Juicing cone accommodates small limes to large grapefruits.
  • Brushed metal housing.
  • Snap-up spout prevents dripping.
  • Recipe book included.
  • Dishwasher-safe parts.
This highly-rated juicer comes in other colors, but they are all more expensive than the brushed stainless.

$5 off of $70 on top of regular gift card discounts at Raise.com = frugal common sense

Have you discovered Raise yet?  Buying gift cards through Raise.com is one of the most oft-used tools in my frugal arsenal.  First of all, even without any promo codes at all, all of their gift cards are discounted.  That means that when I pay with a gift card from Raise.com, I'm automatically saving money, even if I never clip another coupon or use another promo code.  For stores that I frequent, like Walmart, Walgreen's, Home Depot, Southwest Airlines, Victoria's Secret, Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc., using gift cards that are already discounted is a no-brainer.

When Raise stacks the deck by offering a promo code discount on top of their already discounted cards, I pay attention.  Right now, from today, 7/2/13-7/4/13, when you enter promo code USA5 at checkout, you'll be scoring an additional $5 off your $70 gift card purchase.  The $70 does not have to be all on one gift card, but can be spread over a few different ones.  That's like getting an additional 7% off of your gift cards, on top of the regular Raise discount.

Today, I snagged a $100.00 Home Depot gift card for $93.00, and this promo code lowered it to $88.00.  That's 12% off my Home Depot purchase before I use a single promo code or shop for a deal.

Paying for stuff with discounted gift cards just makes tons of frugal sense and is my favorite item on a list of no-brainer, low-effort ways to save money.

(And don't forget that if' you've got gift cards from stores that you never frequent, you can also sell them through Raise.  You'll lose a little money on the transaction, but better to have the cash in your pocket than to be dragging around a gift card that you'll never use.  We unloaded a few gift cards at non-kosher establishments that we had received through work this way, and are going to use the cash to treat ourselves to a fabulously expensive kosher dinner the next time we're in New York.)

The new July 2013 Whole Foods coupons are up!

The new July 2013 Whole Foods coupons are up!

Please do this, right now: go to the Whole Foods coupon page, select them all and print them to a pdf entitled "Whole Foods coupons delete after 9-30-13." I've gotten into the habit of doing this as soon as the new coups appear, because the new ones always come out about a month before the old ones expire.  Whole Foods store coupons appear on cycle every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November).  Once you have the coupons saved to a .pdf, you can use them right up to their expiration date, even if they are no longer on the Whole Foods website.

Now on to the coupons.  Big news this month:  Whole Foods has finally come out with a Global Coupon Policy that states that in all stores, you are allowed to stack one store coupon with one manufacturer's coupon per item. That's always been the case here in Colorado, but I'm relieved to hear that it's now going to be the case everywhere.  Stacking Whole Foods coupons will save you a ton of money on organics.

All of these Whole Foods coupons are good through 9/30/13. I'll update them as new manufacturer coupons become available.

My favorite coupon this month?  Definitely the House Foods Shirataki  noodles, a favorite of my starch-avoiding husband, and it will be near-free when you stack the coupons.

(Please note, not all the items listed below are necessarily kosher. Doublecheck for a reliable hechsher in-store).
