When I saw the price on this laptop, which included a year of MS Office 365, the first thing I said to myself was, "that's going to have really crummy reviews."
I was totally wrong.
Amazon has the HP Stream 11 Laptop including one year of Office 365 Personal for $199.99 with free shipping. It received 4.3 out of 5 stars over 531 customer reviews.
This is such an incredible value in a laptop purchase. While it is in the same price category as a Chromebook, it has three distinct advantages 1) it includes a year of Microsoft Office 365, a $69.99 value on its own and 2) it runs on Windows 8.1, not the Chrome operating system 3) for the same price, it has twice the storage of a Chromebook, 32 GB vs 16 GB.
The only downside that I see to this computer is that the RAM is only 2GB (same as a Chromebook), which is not bad at all for the price but that means that this isn't going to be a powerhouse/workhorse computer. But with 32GB of storage, and basically a full-service laptop AND the Office package included, the value on this is still off the charts. I really like the idea that this runs on a Windows platform and not the Chrome one, which basically limits you to web-based apps and not much else.
(If you're in the market for a laptop with a slightly larger screen, go for the HP Stream 13 for $229.99, with basically the same configuration (and the free year of Office) but with a 13.3" screen vs. an 11.6" screen.)
