Early Bird Purim Deals: Mishloach Manot (or Shalach Manos or Purim Gifts) bags and boxes, $0.12 - $0.66 each

I know what you're saying.  You're saying, can't we please just get through Tu B'Shvat first before we start shopping for Purim?

But you know my motto for all the holidays, life cycle events and any other occasions that require spending large chunks of money:  the earlier you get the shopping out of the way, the more you can enjoy the holiday.  (Please remember this in 4 weeks, when I start posting Pesach deals.)  :)

Purim falls out on 3/4/15-3/5/15 this year,  a mere five weeks away.  I checked some of my Purim posts from last year, and yay, it looks like the prices on some of the more popular Mishloach Manot (aka Shalach Manos) supplies have actually dropped from 2014.  Gosh, I love when that happens.

First one up is this 50-count pack of assorted color plastic bags (pictured above), measuring 8.75" x 12", for just $5.97 (was $7.47 last year). That comes to $0.12 per plastic bag. This is an Amazon Add-On item, which means that it ships for free with a $25 minimum order if you are an Amazon Prime member (and the $5.97 price counts towards that $25), or it ships for free with a $35 minimum order if you're not a Prime member.

The next one is for your slightly nicer Mishloach Manot, you know, the ones we make for someone special, or as a thank you. This 12-count pack of assorted canvas drawstring  bags, measuring 4.5" x 7" is $6.00 (was $8.72 last year) with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  That comes to $0.50 per canvas bag.

These colorful print shopping bags measure approximately 8.75"H x 7.5"W x 3.5"D and Amazon has got 60 of them for  $19.75 (last year they were $24.50) with free Prime/Supersaver shipping. That works out to approximately $0.33 per bag, shipped.  (Please note that even though they appear in the photo, there are no tags on these bags.)

Amazon has got a 12-pack of these multi-colored treat boxes for $5.80 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  That comes to about $0.48 per box. These boxes measure 6 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 6".

Get a 12-count pack of treasure chest boxes for $4.85 (they were $5.65 last year), which works out to  $0.40 per box.  This is also an Amazon Add-On item, which means that it ships for free with a $25 minimum order if you are an Amazon Prime member (and the $4.85 price counts towards that $25), or it ships for free with a $35 minimum order if you're not a Prime member.  If you're doing a treasure chest theme, you can unload some of those leftover Chanukah gelt coins you've got in the pantry.

This was too cute not to include, but please note that these are smaller than the ones above. Get a 12-count pack of these mini carriage boxes for $5.58 with free shipping ($0.47 per box; no Prime account required). These are about half the size of the other boxes (2.25"L x 1.25"W x 1.75"H), so they will hold fewer Purim treats (which might be a good thing).
