Prime Pantry promotion: shop for Passover items through Prime Pantry, get free shipping and apply $5.99 credit to get free stuff

As you probably already know by now, whenever an Amazon Prime member purchases an Amazon Prime item for $1.01 or more and checks out, (s)he is given the option to select Free No Rush Shipping and as a reward, receive a $1.00 Instant Video credit.

Well, now Amazon has upped the ante.

Now, if you are an Amazon Prime member, when you purchase an Amazon Prime item for $6.01 or more and check out, you will be offered the option to select slower shipping and as a reward, receive a $5.99 credit towards any Prime Pantry purchase. Make sure you select the "FREE No-Rush Shipping" at checkout.

There is no limit to the number of $5.99 credit that you can earn, but you can only redeem one $5.99 credit per Prime Pantry order. Credits that you earn now will expire on 5/31/15

Now, on to Prime Pantry. Remember Prime Pantry?

Prime Pantry is a program that Amazon added to its Prime membership this past year.   In a nutshell, Amazon Prime members get to add up to 45 lbs. worth of household, food, personal and beauty items to a Prime Pantry box, and it gets delivered to your house for $5.99.  The advantage of the Prime Pantry program over, say, Amazon's Subscribe & Save is that 1) you don't need to buy in bulk quantities, and 2) some of the items are very well-priced.

But for me, that $5.99 shipping just kills the deal every time, no matter how well-priced the Prime Pantry items are.  That's the reason that I've rarely recommended a Prime Pantry deal on Daily Cheapskate (and why you won't see them on most other blogs).   I just don't think Prime Pantry deals are in your best frugal interest, especially when you can get such fantastic bargains on Amazon Subscribe & Save.

Ah, but here is another twist.  There are now TWO ways you can get that free Prime Pantry $5.99 shipping fee waived:
  1. Add any variety of Amazon Elements Baby Wipes ($10.99 for 480-count) to your order.  This is great if you have a baby or other uses for baby wipes.
  2. Add three select items from this page to your Prime Pantry box.  Some excellent buys here, like:
(There is also a third way:  Add four select Coca-Cola products to your Prime Pantry order.  You don't want to do this because the weight of those items will take up two Prime Pantry boxes and you'll be charged yet another $5.99, so this is sort of silly.)

So if you're an Amazon Prime member, here's what you do:  the next time you make a Prime purchase of $6.01 or more, select the Free No Rush Shipping for the $5.99 Prime Pantry credit.  It will automatically be stored in your account.

Then hop over to Prime Pantry, take advantage of the $5.99 credit (which will be automatically applied at checkout when you order) and make sure you select one of the two options that will get your $5.99 Prime Pantry shipping fee waived.

And you can now score some terrific Passover items at great prices in your Prime Pantry box like:

COFFEE:
INSTANT COFFEE

DECAFF COFFEE:
K-CUPS
OTHER STUFF:
Plus many disposable tableware items like coated paper plates and plastic silverware.
