LEDs are much more efficient that incandescent bulbs and don't contain the mercury that's in CFLs (though they do contain lead, please be aware). LEDs are expensive, especially as compared to incandescents, but they pay for themselves by lasting for years, whereas incandescents will burn out after a few months. We've been buying our 60 watt non-dimmable LEDs at Home Depot and paying about $8.00 per bulb on sale. This Amazon Gold Box deal is way better.
