Buy a Staples Back to School Savings Pass for $10 and save 15% on all school supplies at Staples stores all summer long

Buy a Staples Back to School Savings Pass for $10 and save 15% on all school supplies at Staples stores through 9/15/12.

This could potentially be a great deal but keep in mind that:
  • You need to buy at least $67.00 worth of school supplies to break even on this.
  • It's only good in-store, not for online or phone orders.
  • You may use it for only one transaction per day.
  • It's not good for the purchase of technology, ink, toner, calculators, case paper (though you can use it on individual reams), flash drives, furniture, food, mobile phones/plans, services, postage, gift cards, or phone cards.
  • It's usually not stackable with coupons or other discounts, so generally it will be a straight 15% off.
Now given that Staples runs school supply specials all summer long, where you can get supercheap items on sale for a song, having this card could be a great money saver, as you will get 15% off on already great prices without clipping a coupon. And this card could be really worthwhile if you've got more than two or three kids with mile-long lists of school supplies.  But take all of the above into account and weigh the pros and cons before purchasing it; run the math and make sure it will suit your needs and actually save you money.
