So let me start off by saying that many watches made by clothing designers are overpriced. There's usually nothing all that special about a designer watch's movement and unless there is something special about their materials (like they have a diamond embellishment or the band or case is made out of gold), in theory they shouldn't be more expensive than, say, a Timex.
The answer of course, is in the styling. Watches made by clothing designers are just more stylish than most other watches. So I look at designer watches the same way I'd look at a beautiful suit: if it's stylish enough, I'll buy it. You're paying for cut, for elegance, for craftsmanship, for fashion.
I love Anne Klein clothing, so I always check out her watches to see if anything catches my eye at the right price. This Anne Klein double-bracelet watch just had a huge price drop today. Yesterday it was priced at $93.75 and today it dropped by a full one-third to $62.50 with free shipping, the lowest price it has ever been on Amazon. This beautiful and unusual bracelet watch definitely has the styling I was referring to and it also has the high-end material. The bracelet isn't gold, but it does have a tiny diamond set in its face. Worth the price at $93.75 and definitely worth it at $62.50. That's a steal.
