It almost pains me to do a post about snow shovels in October. But winter weather is coming, and as I'm sure you know, the price of good-quality snow shovels tends to increase as the first flakes fall. And you do not want to be stuck with a crummy snow shovel ever; it will hurt your back and take you twice as long to clear a path.
Ace Hardware is having a great 20% off sale on snow shovels and roof rakes. I've always found Ace's prices to be better than most other chain hardware stores on certain items.
Here's the one we bought: this Garant 24" Steel Snow Shovel, normally $21.99, is $17.59 with free in-store pickup (compare to $39.23 at Amazon). It got 4.7 out of 5 stars over 18 reviews, most of them raves about the performance of this shovel, and how much easier it was to clear away snow with this tool.
