The 4M Potato Clock kit is just $4.99, the lowest recorded Amazon price on this item.  It got 4 out of 5 stars over 147 customer reviews.  And yes, it is an actual clock that runs on potatoes. No batteries needed, but you will need two potatoes.  

From reading the reviews, a small minority of purchasers were disappointed that the clock was not of high quality.  Keep in mind that you are buying this kit to illustrate a principle (turning a potato into a battery), not to obtain a great clock.
