CYBER MONDAY WEEK MEGA-DEAL: $60 off the Skybell Video Doorbell, now $139 with free shipping! This is one of the hottest security items out there now and you won't see a lower price any time soon.

The Skybell Video Doorbell is priced at $199.00, but when you click through this link and enter promo code CYBER60 at checkout, that price drops by $60.00 to $139.00 with free shipping.  I have not seen this product (or its competitors) for anywhere NEAR this price.  If you're not familiar with the Skybell, here's how it works:

After you install the Skybell, when someone rings your doorbell, Skybell sends an alert to your smartphone. You will be able to see, hear, and speak to your visitor, no matter where you are.  So if you are on vacation, you can answer your doorbell as if you were home!

The applications are numerous. Watch this video to get an idea of how practical the Skybell is.

This year, we had a rash of burglaries in our neighborhood (which is normally a very safe area), done by a gang that would ring the doorbell of a house in the middle of the day and then if no one answered, they would go around to the back door and break in.

With a Skybell, you can see who is ringing your bell from anywhere and answer accordingly.  I wish we had bought one of these before we went to Alaska last year; I would have had much better peace of mind. Think of the uses:
  • You can answer your door when you're at work and never miss another package delivery.  You can instruct the FedEx guy to leave the package with your neighbor.
  • You can answer the door when you're on vacation and the visitor need never know that no one is home!
  • If you are in the bathtub (or otherwise engaged), you can see who is at the door and decide whether it's worth getting out of the tub.
  • If your older kids are home alone for the weekend, you can see who is visiting them (no unauthorized guests or parties).
  • You can avoid political, missionary, solicitor, and salesmen, etc. visits if you're busy at home.
  • If you're at home and your baby is asleep, you can silence the indoor chime and still see who's ringing your doorbell with a smartphone alert.
  • You can keep an eye on your elderly parents' visitors when you're not there.
  • Even if you miss an alert, the smartphone app records the doorbell visit for you so you can watch it later.
  • If you've got a daytime babysitter or nanny, you can make sure she receives only authorized guests when you're not home.
