This page is going to be the source of quite a number of great finds this week. In addition to Daily Deals, it also has the listing of Amazon Lightning Deals in real time. If you've never bought an item from an Amazon Lightning Deal, let's take a look at how they work.
Amazon Lightning Deals are items that can be purchased at a special low price, (one per customer,) until either the promotion period for the deal expires or all the available promotional discounts are claimed. Since Lightning Deals are time-sensitive, it's important to complete your order for the item as soon as possible.
For many Lightning Deals, Amazon Prime members get 1/2 hour early access to it, so if you don't have a Prime membership, that deal might or might not sell out before you are allowed to purchase it. (You can always
get a free Prime 30-day membership here; Black Friday week is a GREAT time to do that.)
When a Lightning Deal is available, here's what you'll see:
- The item featured in the deal.
- Any available variations of the item (for example: different sizes or colors).
- The promotional discount amount and final price.
- A status bar indicating the percentage of deals currently in customers' carts or purchased.
- A timer showing how long you have to add the item to your shopping cart and claim the promotional discount.
- An "Add to Cart" button if there are available promotional discounts left.
- Whether or not Prime members get early access to the deal.
- When all the promotional discounts for a Lightning Deal are held by other customers, you'll see a "Join Waitlist" button and the status bar will show that 100% if the promotional discounts are currently being held in other customers' Carts or have already been used to purchase the deal. I have gotten Lightning Deals many times by joining the waitlist, because people often change their minds after they put something in their shipping cart, so don't hesitate to join a waitlist thinking you'll never get the item; you also still have the option to not buy the item.
Since this is the week before Black Friday,
the Lightning Deals are going to be extraordinarily well-priced. It pays to check in at least once or twice a day to see what's available. As we get closer to Black Friday and more people focus on shopping for the best deals, I'll be posting select Lightning Deals as they become available.
