We are huge Dyson fans.  We own two very loveable and sheddy dogs, and getting a Dyson a few years ago literally changed the standard of cleanliness in the house.  Our Dyson eats up dog hair (and pretty much any other dirt you can think of) like nobody's business, and it's modular, so if anything gets clogged, you just "unclick" that part of the vacuum, clean out the clog, and "click" the part back in.   We had been going through a vacuum cleaner each year up until we bought our Dyson, and since we bought it, it's been our only vacuum.

Amazon Gold Box Deal, 1/21/16: Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multifloor Upright Vacuum (model #206035-01) for $389.99 shipped

So, let's start this off by saying that this deal is not going to be for everyone. Even as a Gold Box Deal, this Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multifloor Upright Vacuum (model #206035-01) is still a big chunka change, $389.99 with free Prime/SuperSaver shipping.  But if you are looking for a vacuum that will transform the cleanliness level of your house, strongly consider it.  This is basically one of Dyson's top of-the-liner vacuums, heavily, heavily discounted.

We bought our Dyson DC25 on a Gold Box Deal in 2012 for $320, and I've never looked back. We had two sheddy dogs, and I was constantly dealing with the floors, copious clumps of dog hair, dust and dander, and I must have gone through 3 or 4 cheapola vacuums before we decided to invest in the best. What a difference.  I vacuum once, and it takes me 5 minutes to do a room, I'm done and the floor is spotless.  The suction on these machines is incredible.

Dysons are lightweight (this one is 19 lbs), very easy to maneuver because of the giant ball, bagless, have HEPA filtration, and come with a 5-year p&l warranty. Dysons don't just get the dirt, they capture pollen, mold, and bacteria, and trap them within the bin. No other vacuum expels cleaner air.  The self-adjusting cleaner head automatically adjusts to seal in suction across all floor types, so it's able to clean both carpets and hard floors.

What pushes this particular Dyson model to the top of the line is that the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball vacuum is the first upright vacuum that was made with "Cinetic science."  Inside the vacuum, Dyson Cinetic tips oscillate and generate centrifugal force to separate out the dust that clogs other vacuums. This means there are no dirty filters to wash or replace, and it never loses suction. The no-filter maintenance feature is huge plus for people with allergies! (I wish I had this in my model.)

And I'll add my own little perk here.  We have thrown out so many cheap vacuums because they got clogged or the motor burnt out when something go stuck inside, etc.  The awesome thing about Dysons is that they are basically modular.  They snap together like a giant LEGO puzzle.  So when I vacuum up something I shouldn't, it doesn't wreck the whole machine.  I simply take the vacuum apart, piece by piece, until I locate the culprit, remove it, and snap the whole thing back together again. Easy fix.

I wasn't able to locate this exact model number at any other online stores for price comparison, but all the other Cinetic models that I found were in the $500-$600 range, so it's safe to say that this is an excellent price (good today, 1/21/16 only).

Amazon's Gold Box Deal of the Day today, 12/21/15, is on two popular models of Dyson vacuums. But before I get to the deals, let me tell you why I'm such a Dyson fan, in spite of their high prices.

We had a plain-old-regular vacuum for years, and with two lovable but very sheddy dogs it just didn't do the trick.We had heard about how incredible Dysons were, but to be honest, the inner-cheapskate in me never quite believed that a vacuum, any vacuum, would be worth $400+.

But after agonizing over the cost, my husband and I took a leap of faith and bought a Dyson DC25 for $319 way back on an Amazon Gold Box Deal in March, 2011. (I've come to realize that Gold Box Deals on Dysons provide the best value prices on new models; I don't believe in buying any refurbished appliances.)

Regrets?  None.

We have never looked back.  It has transformed my cleaning and my house is so much more pleasant now, and I've become a total Dyson convert.  Dysons are amazingly efficient at getting every last scrap of dirt, dust and dog hair.  As frugal as I am, I believe that our Dyson was worth every penny.  I actually vacuum less now, because when I do, our Dyson gets all the dirt more quickly.  It's also less strain on my back and shoulders, as it is designed to glide effortlessly over surfaces.

And it's not just pet owners who get the most bang for their buck out of Dysons.  If you've got kids of any age, you know what rooms look like after they've finished playing in them or eating in them. Make your life easier with a vacuum that restores your cleanliness (and most of your sanity) efficiently and quickly

Besides the fact that it is so much more efficient, the other thing that I love about Dysons is that they are modular, so when (not if, but when) something gets stuck inside, you snap it apart, find the culprit, and snap it back together again in minutes. I can't tell you how many cheapola vacuums I've had to throw out because they got plugged up and I couldn't get to the source of the clog, or they got so stuffed up that the suction died or the motor burned out.  We've had our Dyson for going on four years, and it's just as potent now as it was when we got it.
