Head up, moviegoers! AMC Stubs Insider Program now available for free

Those of you who have been reading Daily Cheapskate since the Stone Age might recall my little analysis way back here of the AMC Stubs Premiere program, which started out as an AMC Theaters loyalty program that came with a $15 annual membership.  After working through the math, I decided that it was not worth the membership fee (unlike other "pay-to-save" programs, like a Costco membership).

Well now, AMC Theaters is offering a new breakaway of their Stubs program called AMC Stubs Insider and it's FREE to join.  The two best advantages that I see for Stubs Insider are the $2.00 per ticket discount on Tuesdays and the $5 reward when you get 5,000 points.  If you're part of the regular Stubs Premiere program, you'll get to that reward after spending $50 and if you're part of the free Stubs Insider program, you'll get there after spending $250.  Still it's a free rewards program, and I never look a gift horse in the eye.  We're pretty frequent movie-goers and we'll probably end up getting one free $5 reward per year.
