My price target for brand name, higher-end dog food for our little beagle is generally about $1 per lb. Now, mind you, while I love our crazy little dog, I'm not one of these, er, eccentric, pet owners who insists on feeding my canine (who will happily eat garbage) only organic dog food, or filet mignon, or such. But our spoiled-rotten little dog is finicky, and though her favorite food is generally whatever-I'm-eating, she has been known to go on week-long hunger strikes whenever I buy her the cheaper Purina stuff, or, heaven forbid, the price-friendly Costco brand dog food. So when I see a good deal on higher-end dog food, I grab it.
Here's how to get 6 lbs. of Simply Nourish dry dog (or cat) food and two 10 oz. cans of Simply Nourish wet food at Petsmart, in-store, for a mere $4.99. The dry food normally retails for $12.99 and the canned food normally goes for $2.29/can, so the value of this pet food deal is $17.57.
- Make sure you have signed up for Petsmart PetPerks. It's a great program to join even outside of this deal...I've gotten tons of freebies and high-value coupons from them. Join here.

- The 6 lb. size of the Simply Nourish dog food is on sale for a short time for $9.99 (reduced from $12.99). With $5 coupon, $4.99. The two cans of wet food (great for traveling) are free. So you get the 6 lb. bag of dry food and the two cans of wet food, total value $17.57, for $4.99. Ruff! (Meow.)
