Save money through American Express Link, Like,Love

Do you have both an American Express card and a Facebook account?

If you are an AmEx cardmember, and you link your card to the "Link, Like, Love" application on the American Express Facebook page, you'll be connected to a personalized Link, Like, Love (LLL) dashboard through which AmEx will deliver deals, content and experiences based on your Facebook likes and interests, as well as the likes and interests of your friends. You can choose the deals you want and then use your card as you usually do. American Express will send statement credits to your card accounts – no coupons, no print-outs.  Program details are here.

For example, if you liked Whole Foods Market on Facebook or have checked in to Whole Foods on Facebook Places, you will probably see a "Spend $20 Get $5 Back" Whole Foods Market deal in your dashboard. Cardmembers can share deals with friends, choose the deals they want and then use their card as they usually do to claim the offer.

Here's how you set up your AmEx card on Link, Like, Love (LLL):
  1. Click here and like the American Express Facebook page
  2. Click on the Link, Like, Love tab (on the left-hand side).
  3. Click on the "Get Started" button.  Allow the application to access your profile.
  4. Click on the "Link Card" button.
  5. Fill in your name, email address and your American Express card number.  You may only link one AmEx card per Facebook account.
  6. Once your card is linked, you can start taking advantage of  LLL deals.  There are two types of LLL deals:  the kind you add to your card and the kind you click through to use.  The ones that you click through to use are straightforward (get 30% off, free shipping, etc.)
  7. The LLL deals that you add to your card are generally time-limited (expire after 30 days, etc.) and you will not see the reward when you actually execute the deal. Rather, it will show up on your statement as a credit between 2 days and 2 billing cycles after you've paid for the deal.
  8. If you have multiple AmEx cards, be aware that you can only link one card per Facebook account and you must use the card you linked in order to get the deal.

Here are some fantastic deals currently available from LLL.  I've already done the Whole Foods LLL deal and the $5 showed up on my online statement a week after I used my card. On the Whole Foods deal, I actually bought $52 worth of items and used $29 worth of coupons, so the extra $5 on my statement credit was just the cherry on top.  Please note, the minimum amounts required to get the deals are after any coupons.  These LLL deals, especially the ones you add to your card, add a layer of money-saving to your shopping.
