Get 100 bonus Kicks when you link your Visa to Shopkick by 12/7/11

Do you use Shopkick?   It's currently holding the place of honor as my favorite shopping app, probably because lately, it's been so easy to earn gift cards on Shopkick.

What's Shopkick? I'm so glad you asked.

Basically, it's a smartphone app that rewards shoppers with "kicks" (formerly called "kickbucks," points which can be redeemed for store gift cards) simply for walking into a brick & mortar store. Sounds pretty un-techy, you say, for this day and age? Not at all. How does Shopkick know you are actually in the store? Because you "check in" via the smartphone application that locates you via GPS. Shopkick also gives you points for scanning items in-store and in some cases, for buying items. Shopkick also has some unique digital coupons (that I haven't seen anywhere else) that you just show to the cashier and ask her to scan when you purchase something in a Shopkick member store. Finally, for my fellow lazy slugs, Shopkick's also got "Instant Surprises" that allow you to earn kickbucks while sitting on your couch. The points accumulate pretty quickly (frankly, I can't be bothered with points programs where you need to wait forever for a reward).

Here's some recent Shopkick news:  now, Shopkick has a new way to earn kicks called "Buy & Collect." Link your eligible Visa debit or credit card to the app and collect thousands of kicks when you make purchases at select Shopkick vendors, i.e.  when you spend $100 at Old Navy, you'll receive 1,000 kicks, or when you spend $100 at Toys R Us, you'll receive 800 kicks.  If you're spending the time shopping anyway, you might as well get some points for the effort!  Those points can later be redeemed for gift cards (which will lead you to more shopping, but I digress).

AND, you get 100 bonus kicks just for linking your Visa up to Shopkick by Wednesday, 12/7/11.  Click on the "Nearby" tab and you'll see the green "Tap Here" button that will take you to the screen where you can link your Visa.  The 100 bonus points will show up in your account on 12/8/11.
