7-piece 18/10 stainless steel cookware set for $44.54 shipped

Many of you have been emailing me about finding a good cookware set for Pesach.  Here's what I'm getting out of your requests:
  1. It sounds like most of you have Pesach pots that you want supplement.  You don't need a huge 20-piece set.
  2. You don't need a super-expensive brand like Cuisinart or Calphalon, since you're going to be using these pots for only a week out of the year.
  3. Nevertheless, you don't want cheap, flimsy pots that are going to warp or peel, since you're going to be doing a lot of cooking for Pesach, and some of you have already tossed out the cheapola pots that you bought initially.
  4. You don't want to spend a lot of money (I hear that!)
Truth is, I could use some new pots myself.  My Pesach cookware is sort of hodgepodge of pots that I found on sale through the years, and one ten-year-old non-stick Farberware set that is begging to be thrown out. So I went on the hunt, looking for smaller sets in stainless steel (no more Teflon or aluminum, ich), with minimally 3.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and with at least half their reviewers giving them a 4- or 5- star rating.  I found a bunch of cheapie sets with mediocre to bad reviews, and I found a bunch of well-reviewed, better sets for over $100.

Then I found this.  It's an 18/10 stainless steel set with encapsulated bases (for more even cooking) for $44.54 with free shipping.  It got 4.1 stars over 62 customer reviews (with 47 of those at least 4- or 5-star).  The description doesn't mention whether they are dishwasher safe, though 1) it's not an issue for me (or most of you, it sounds like), since I don't have a Pesach dishwasher, 2) most stainless steel items are safe for the dishwasher anyway 3) one customer reviewer says she did put them through the dishwasher and they came out fine.  I like the glass lids with the steam vent, since I'm used to them from my everyday Calphalon set.  I like the fact that these are 18/10 stainless.  And I really like the fact that they are less than $45 shipped.
  • 1 qt. covered saucepan,
  • 2 qt. covered saucepan,
  • 5 qt. covered dutch oven
  • 9½" frying pan (dutch oven lid fits frying pan)
Now remember, these are not tri-ply or a major name brand, so they are probably going to be thinner than what you might be used to.  But for the price and for the length of time that you'll be using them, the quality seems to be good enough.

As you well know, Amazon prices flip on a dime, so get this 7-piece 18/10 stainless steel pot set for $44.54 with free shipping here.
