As a first generation American on one side (my father z"l was a Holocaust survivor) and a second generation American on the other side, I have a special appreciation and love for the country that took in my parents and grandparents and allowed us so many important freedoms and opportunities. Happy birthday, America.
I'll be posting a little sporadically as I celebrate the day with my dear husband, but I wish you a wonderful Independence Day, full of family, friends and gratitude.
