Sadly, this deal back in November for a free year of The Economist didn't work out. Many of you told me that you received an email from Magazineline saying you had to be a member of the NEA Magazine Service in order to qualify for the free subscriptions. :( We received the same email. I'm particularly bummed because The Economist is one of my husband's favorite (very pricey) magazines. An annual subscription to The Economist on Magazines.com would cost $127. That's quite a chunka change for a subscription.
I just saw a new Groupon deal for a year of The Economist today for $51! While it's not cheap, it's still 60% off the regular rate, and that is a great deal if you want the magazine. I know many of you have accumulated Groupon referral credits that will also help reduce the cost (and if you would like, feel free to post your referral link on the DailyCheapskate Facebook Wall to try and grab up some more credits).
