When my friend in New Jersey asked me to find her a great deal on a cover to protect her Ipad2, I went straight to the source, Apple. They carry something called the Smart Cover, which runs from $39-$69, and for some odd reason, only seems to protect the front of the Ipad2. What about the back?
I did some research and it seems that there are lots of manufacturers jumping into the fray to create back covers for the Ipad2 that are compatible with the Smart Cover. That made no sense to me either. Why make the consumer buy two covers for the Ipad? (Because they can?)
Then I found the Khomo Dual Case (pictured above), which protects both the front and the back of the Ipad2, and works as a stand to prop it up. It's made from a Polyurethane Smart Cover front and a Hard Rubberized Poly-carbonate back, so it can take some abuse. It earned excellent reviews on Amazon and an average 4 1/2 star rating out of 5. Amazon's got it for $22.97 with free Prime shipping which is the lowest price by far that I've seen on these Ipad protectors. It will be in stock next week, 12/8/11, but you can still order it now.
