Combination immersion blender and hand-mixer in one appliance for just $11.70

UPDATE: Amazon took away Prime/SuperSaver shipping and this now costs $7.46 to ship. In my humble opinion, this is no longer a great deal. I'll be searching for a different lower-priced immersion blender to replace it.

This strikes me as such an original idea:  an immersion blender AND a hand mixer, all in one appliance!  Get a Back to Basics MX3000 for only $11.70 with free Amazon Prime or SuperSaver ($25 minimum purchase) shipping.  Talk about a steal!
Now, mind you, that one-beater mixer isn't exactly going to give you the same kind of power as a Kitchen Aid, but I'll bet it's enough to handle your average Pesach cake mix.  I think this is a perfect appliance for those of us who don't have a lot of room in our Pesach kitchens and who aren't going to do a massive amount of entertaining for Pesach.  Remember, all told, it's just a week.

(And just a quick word on immersion blenders:    they are a must for thickening up vegetable soups and sauces; I use my regular one at least once a week.  I couldn't imagine going through Pesach without one.)

i just got my shipment--i felt that the $7 shipping was ok if i was getting 2 of this product. they shipped me the wrong items (i got black and decker hand mixers with 2 different types of beaters, but i need the blender part), and when i locate the item page on amazon again, the price went up to $30 plus $13.99 shipping for this cool combo. Hamilton Beach makes a similar option for about $22. no other appliance maker has this same 2-in-1 feature for so little. I might just get one of those instead.

  2. Debra, that is unforgivable. Do you have the number for Amazon customer service? They need to make good on that. Even if you are ok about keeping it, call them and tell them what happened and see what they will do for you. Amazon has excellent customer service.
