I feel like I need to let you know what happened with this order. I got very excited with your post b/c I had been wanting a breadmaker but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I placed the order that day and received the product 2 weeks later, while I was out of town.
ReplyDeleteOn 12/24, I received an email from their customer service saying they had made a mistake, and while they had promised a NEW breadmaker, it was actually REFURBISHED. The email told me to respond within 48 hrs (despite it being a holiday!) if I wanted a full refund/return.
I responded the next day -- as someone who keeps kosher, a refurbished kitchen product isn't okay. I wanted the return/refund. Luckily, the product hadn't even been opened.
It took them a week to respond back, and they apologized and offered me a $5 credit instead. I responded again stating that I did NOT want the refurbished model, and insisting on a full return/refund.
A few days later, they responded again -- stating they only issue refunds within 21 days of purchase or for a defective product. Since neither situation applied to my breadmaker, I was not eligible for a return.
Are you kidding me? They didn't even notify me of their mistake until after 21 days had past. And in my eyes, it IS defective - it's refurbished, not new, as promised. And I was offered a full refund if I replied within 48 hrs, which I did.
So what's going on here? I can't even find a phone number to talk to someone on the phone. I'm giving them one more day to respond or else I'm contesting the payment with my credit card. Any thoughts on how to deal with this? I'm appalled by their customer service!!
Eve, that is APPALLING. Please email me privately at frugalskate@gmail.com. Include your name, phone number, and if you can, forward me a copy of the order. I'm taking this to my rep at the company. This is completely unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteEve, I've contacted my rep. Please email me as soon as possible.
