44% off at Payless Shoes; get Wallis Moc Boots for $14 each

There's nothing quite like stacking discounts to really maximize your savings.  When you can pile one discount on top of the other, pounce like a cougar and shop till you drop.

Payless Shoes has just started one of their cyclical BOGOHO (Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Off) sales.  Now, if you've been reading this blog for a while and have become a pro at Shoppers Math, you know that BOGOHO, when both items are the same price, is the equivalent of 25% off.  (When the items are different prices, the amount of the discount drops.)  So the key to maximizing your savings in BOGOHO sale is to buy pairs of items that are the same price.

The BOGOHO discount will come up automatically at Payless.com.  No need to enter any promo code.

Through 2/10/13, you can get an additional 25% off on top of the BOGOHO discount. (This is a very high percentage; usually if second discount is available, it's only 20%.)  Enter promo code 92617 at checkout, and you will see an additional price drop of 25% on everything in your shopping cart.  For my fellow math junkies, 25% off and then another 25% off means you're getting almost 44% off (.75 *.75=.5625).  For those of you who are allergic to math, you'll have to trust me:  you're getting a whopping 44% off on your total price!

Now, remember, you'll need to buy two items which are the same price to maximize your discount up to 44%.

These Women's Wallis Moc Boots (pictured above) were priced at $49.99 and are on sale for half-price at $25.00.  I teamed up with my friend and I'm going to buy two pairs, one for each of us.  As I added them to the cart, the total price for the two pairs dropped from $50 to $37.50, because of the automatic BOGOHO discount.

Then I entered promo code 92617, and the price of the entire shopping cart dropped by another 25% or $9.37.  I selected free store pickup to save on the ridiculous $5.95 shipping charge (Payless stores are everywhere), and my grand total was $28.13 for both pairs of boots, or just $14.07 each.  Excellent.

So to get that 44% off, go to the Payless site here, and stack these savings:
  1. Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Off (25% off)
  2. Additional 25% with promo code 92617
  3. Free store pickup (eliminates shipping charge)
